ARC Review of Emma Brewster: Too Hot To Handle by Mary Moriarty

BLURB:

Emma Brewster comes from a long line of Brewster witches and she is not only a witch but a fire-starter witch. She is suppose to be able to control that element but so far she can’t control much of anything when she comes in contact with a handsome man.
Now why is she always bumping into that new, handsome man who just so happens to be a Fire Fighter. She has taken to wearing colored contacts and sunglasses, even on cloudy days so her eyes don’t see him that clearly… but he always seems to be around. Boy is he hot… and oh drats there goes another fire cropping up!
Cas O’Halloran came to this suppose sleepy town to get away from the big city life, except once he bumped into that beautiful redheaded woman on that rainy morning at the bagel shop, his life has been anything but normal or low keyed. His Chief said there have been more unexplained little fires since his arrival than anytime in the history of Cadwell Harbor. ‘This once sleepy, picturesque town is constantly on fire’. So Cas wants to find out why, but he also wants to find out why of all women he is attracted to this red-head who wears sunglasses on rainy, cloudy days and if that’s not bad enough, he feels electrified and alive when he touches her.
Cadwell Harbor will never see a quiet Halloween again if Emma Brewster and Cas O’Halloran have anything to do with it. Nor will it be left standing if those two don’t settle down… one way or another.

MY REVIEW:

One thing I like about Mary Moriarty is the way she writes these books: A mix of history and present day. I love how everything comes alive, from the characters, to situations, to places and events. The writing is easy to follow and well-written. I really liked the witchy feel to the story, especially since the story is about a witch.

You can definitely tell there is plenty of research done so everything fits the time period in which the character Emma came from at the beginning. I like the feel to the places and how the story grew from chapter to chapter. Emma Brewster Too Hot To Handle was a very good read. It has the perfect paranormal feel to it and the romance is sizzling and strong and the characters interesting and charming.

FOUR OUT OF FIVE STARS is what I gave to Emma Brewster Too Hot To Handle. Its a captivating romance with a compelling storyline and unique time periods and sexy situations. I liked this story a lot and think its the perfect book for those that love witches.

ARC Review of Saving Their Princess by TL Reeve

BLURB:

Kidnapped
Sabine Babineaux, daughter of the mayor of New Orleans and waitress at The Three Princesses bar, is snatched from the street after a late night at work and knocked unconscious. Waking in a cage, Sabine is determined to escape and take the other women in the basement lair with her.

Stuart Renwick and Kyle Novak, detectives with the New Orleans police department, are assigned a kidnapping case with multiple victims. However, when one of the missing women, Sabine Babineaux, arrives at their precinct, injured and terrified, they take the damsel in distress under their wings and into their home. But the gallant detectives find their princess a big temptation. What will she say when they tell her they like to share?

Can they work fast enough to find out who the kidnapper is and bring them to justice or will they take more victims or come for Sabine again?

Will Sabine survive long enough to explore her feelings for both detectives? Or will Stuart and Kyle fall at the hands of her kidnapper?

MY REVIEW:

Whenever I pick up a story by TL Reeve I know I am getting a quality story with nail biting suspense, sexy alpha males, sassy and sweet heroines, and sex so HOT, it will leave me melting and squirming all over the place.
Saving Their Princess was pretty freaking awesome. I was immediately taking in with the suspense and action that took place from the moment I opened it. To me, there is nothing more sexy then a couple of gorgeous cops rescuing women. Both detectives are dominating, charming, SMOKING HOT, and they both ooze sexuality. Sabine is a real hero. She rescues herself and the other women and even though she is still frightened, she won't let that stop her from moving on. And with the help from sexy Stuart and Kyle, she gets help and finds love at the same time.
This is fast paced, written to perfection with a TON of action, suspense, and surprises that will leave your mouth hanging open. I really think this story is a winner and am dying to know what else TL Reeve has got in store for us in the future. I give Saving Their Princess an astounding FIVE OUT OF FIVE SHOOTING STARS! Its just an amazing piece of work and the story is fulfilling  and addictive.

Excerpt:
Still covered in duct tape, he turned on his side to face me, his flesh straining against the binds. “You would tell me if something were wrong, right?”
“What do you mean? Of course, I would.”
“So, if you knew something could happen to you, you’d let me know.”
Where was he going with this? “Yes. Nothing is going to happen to me. Well, unless the Twelve get ahold of me. Other than that, I should be fine.”
He nodded in thought.
“Reyes, what is it?”
“I think you keep secrets from me.”
“You keep secrets from me,” I said, teasing. “Seems only fair.”
He leaned forward and nibbled on my ear. “We can decide who gets to keep secrets and who doesn’t later. Until then, want to do it?”
“Reyes!” I said, appalled. “You just had your arm nearly ripped off at the shoulder.” That and the fact that a grown man asking me if I wanted to “do it” was hilarious.
“We can still do it.”
I giggled. “No, we can’t.”
“I’m very creative with my mouth.”
“I am well aware of that.”
“You should sit on my face.”
A bubble of laughter escaped again. “I am not sitting on your face. Oh, my god.”
“Just sit on my face. I’ll make all your dreams come true.”
“You really need to practice humility,” I said.
“Humility is overrated.”

ARC Review of Please Me (On the Set Book 4) by TL Reeve

BLURB:

Samantha is a wild child, with multicolored hair and piercings. She was a carefree as carefree could get. However, when her past comes back to haunt her, she retreats into herself, hiding her true self from everyone.
Heather has faith in her. With the help of Dirk, Dom and porn star Hottie, they will bring her out of the hell she calls a life and blossom into the perfect submissive.

However, Samantha's ex has different plans for her. Will Samantha ever actually be free, or is she doomed to live in the shadows forever?

MY REVIEW:

Please Me is a short story from TL Reeves saucy On The Set Series. This has got to be my favorite so far in the series. I was instantly drawn to sexy Dirk and his panty-melting accent. He is Dom and a sexy one at that! He is porn star who has a thing for the shy and sassy Samantha. But her past gets in the way. It comes in the form of her nasty ex Dom. Dirk is determined to not just save her, but to make her HIS in every way possible, both on the set and off.

WOW right? This short story was incredibly HOT and well paced and perfectly written. I loved the characters and the situations as well as the chemistry between Sam and Dirk. On the set these two catch the scenes on fire, and off the set, things just get even MORE heated. The sex scenes were so hot and sensual and dirty, that I had to put my ereader down and take a cold shower...several times! Yea, its THAT good! TL Reeve has a winner with this series and whenever she gets a new one out, I am BEGGING for it, wanting it so bad I feel like a drug addict waiting on my next fix.

After getting done with Please Me, I gave this erotic short story a FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS. Its kinky, sexy, fast paced read with one dark and sexy Dom a warm and shy submissive and some dangerous and erotic situations that will leave you panting in ecstasy. Its so well written and is WAY more appetizing then ANY porn movie out there.

Little Doll Blurb:
Little Doll is a dark, gritty story not for the faint hearted. It’s not all bad. Redemption, forgiveness and trust are central themes that are weaved amongst the character’s interactions. If you are easily offended by most things violent, this tale of survival may not be for you.

Laila had already overcome many heartbreaking obstacles in her twenty-five years… but none compared to this. With her brother missing and no other family to speak of, Laila has no idea of the evil that shadows her every move. Now in the hands of a notorious cartel family, she quickly learns that trust and betrayal are a deadly mix.

Aiden had a plan. One that was operating smoothly until Laila surfaced in his father’s mansion. With time against him, he must work night and day to right the wrongs that threaten to expose his ultimate betrayal.

Juan and Aiden share many differences, but the one thing that threatens to tear their family apart is the one thing they want to claim as their own, no matter what the costs.

Crimson Desert Blurb:
CRIMSON DESERT is Book Two of the Bittersweet Duet. Book One, LITTLE DOLL is key to the progression of the story.

Now back across the border, Laila realizes that all had not been as it seemed at the Florez mansion. Learning to trust the man she wanted dead was going to take time. Time was not on her side.
For Aiden, the damage was done. There was no going back. Except for one thing… revenge.
Giving up was never an option for Juan. Not even now when everything had changed. He lived and breathed the thrill of the chase and this time the end prize was too great to lose.

This is a dark story where the taste for love and revenge clash in the most unforgiving ways.

That's A Promise Blog Tour and Review

Join us while Victoria Klahr goes on tour with The Heart of a Reader and her novel That's a Promise. The book is a re-release, published October 10 with Booktrope Publishing, and is the first book in the Promises, Promises series.

that's a promise cover

About the Book

Pain isn’t new to me. I’ve been to hell only to find it never really leaves when you get back. It haunts me through nightmares, unrequited love, lies, broken hearts, and now death. A monster almost took my life. My best friend carries half my soul a world away. My boyfriend broke my heart but refuses to let me go. And my father is dead. I don’t believe in fate and I don’t believe in happily-ever-afters, but for some reason, I still hope. Live, even with a tainted spirit. Long for my other half to come back to me. Risk another broken heart, just to feel loved again. And refuse to let another horror break me. In the face of my most recent tragedy, I have to decide whether forgiveness is something I can give. But even if that’s an option, can I be forgiven?

Enjoy this excerpt from That's a Promise:

I’M IN A SEA of black. The beautiful May day gives no impression that there is any sadness or grief in the air. It’s one of those days that you want to spend outside, smelling the new blooming flowers, getting some sun, and walking in the grass barefoot, but none of those things hold any interest for me.
Everything is a blur around me, a haze that mirrors my own depression. I know people are talking to me, but I don’t hear them. They express sadness in their words, but most of them never sympathized with us before today. They talk as if they know us, but where were they before? They live their lives talking shit behind people’s backs, but don’t see the hypocrisy in their fake condolences.
I’ve learned to ignore the whispers and stares, a lesson received repeatedly as I grew up in what some would call an “unconventional” household. Apparently punching everyone who bullies you isn’t the socially acceptable way to handle things, so I try to just ignore them. I don’t want or need to let any of their negativity in, so I remain quiet. There’s been enough sadness in our lives, and there’s no need for nasty words from nosey neighbors to pile onto that pain.
A person in a black suit finishes shoveling dirt into the cold, deep grave. I focus on the earth closing around the person I loved so immensely and to whom I felt so close. The ground consumes the casket and takes my loved one away into a lonely pit; permanently putting an end to the best person I will ever know.
I look at my dad sitting next to me. He is distraught, but well medicated for the occasion, only showing emotion when he remembers he just lost the love of his life. He seems to have aged ten years in the past week. He was once the strongest and most commanding person I knew, but today, he looks like a child. He doesn’t speak, doesn’t do anything except for the essentials. He exists, but he’s not living. He looks up at me and I feel like maybe he wants to reach out and say something to comfort me, but I know his internal pain limits him from showing affection. I put my hand on his shoulder to show I’m here, hoping he understands what I mean.
People are finally leaving. Leaving us behind to grieve together in peace. That’s a lie. There is no peace for us, and there won’t be for a long time. With the preparations for the funeral complete, I have all the time in the world to sit and think about the gravity of what I just lost. That’s not peace. That’s torture.
“Dad,” I say, “I think that maybe we should head back to the house.” He sits there, giving no indication that he heard me suggest our departure.
“Dad,” I try again, after a minute. “Let’s say goodbye, and go home.” I can’t stand to be here any longer.
He stands slowly and walks over to the heap of dirt covering a life that was once vibrant and lively. He collapses onto the mound, and at first I’m startled by the sudden fall. Once I hear the heart wrenching sobs that escape his mouth, I understand he is saying his goodbye. I hear him murmuring about his undying love, and decide to give him some privacy.
I look toward the entrance of the cemetery, shaking myself out of the haze that I was in. I don’t even recall walking this far to get to the grave site, but I don’t want to remember, so I don’t try to conjure up the memory.
A figure leans against one of the nearby trees and I start to sweep my eyes past until recognition hits me in the chest heavily. I don’t think he wanted to be seen, but he was caught and he knows it. My throat starts to constrict and pain obstructs my chest.
He hasn’t changed much since the last time I saw him, except that he has no smile on his face today. He’s still breathtakingly handsome… but he’s also still the asshole I left behind at the cafĂ© a year ago.
Why is he here? How dare he show his face here on a day like today?
I’m in such a state of shock that I lose concept of space and time. I stare at him for a good two minutes before I jerk back to reality.
He gives me a small wave and a slight lift of his beautiful lips. It is a sad and withdrawn smile, enough for me to know he understands exactly what happened.
I glare back at him, not in any mood to be civil, and start stomping my way toward him, intent on giving him a piece of my mind. He has no right to be here.
As I draw closer to him, he pulls himself from the tree and approaches. We meet up and stand so close I almost forget the reason why I came up to him. In my mind’s stuttering state, he speaks first.
“Hi Josie.” His deep, dominant voice washes over me, and I’m angry that it thrills me to hear his voice again. I swallow down the warmth, and try to keep my guard intact.
“What the hell are you doing here?” I hiss. “I’m pretty sure I made it clear I never wanted to see you again. How dare you show your face here?”
“Jo… I just wanted to come and say how sorry I am about your loss. I heard about Will, and I needed to come see how you were doing,” he responds, sadness clear from the roughness of his voice.
Hearing him use my nickname with his gentle tone makes me weak. I wrap my arms around my body to try and keep my anger from being impacted by his kindness.
“I don’t want you here,” I whisper, looking anywhere but at him. I don’t want him to see me break down ever again, but between my loss and seeing him, I don’t know if I will be able to hold back. In that one sentence, filled with the longing and sadness that I didn’t want to show, I made it clear to him that I’m still hurting over what happened.
“I understand. I needed to make sure you’re okay. I know how hard this is for you.” He slowly starts to reach out his hand, and while my cheek tingles at the thought of him touching even an inch of my skin, I think he knows that it’s unwelcome. As I turn the slightest fraction away, he lets his hand fall back to his side, a look of regret crossing his face.
“I can’t do this. Dad needs me right now. I have to take him back to the house,” I say, wanting to get rid of him and the memories he is bringing back.
“Let me stay with you for the day. We can catch up and I can help you with things. Today is tough as it is, let me help,” he says, confidence and determination starting to come back into his personality. This is the man I knew.
I hear footsteps behind me as my dad walks up to us. He stands there, lost in a world I don’t want to enter. He said his goodbye and now he’s retreated back into his shell. I look up at my unexpected visitor and get ready to tell him goodbye for the last time.
“Mr. Sommers, I am so sorry for your loss,” he says softly to my dad. “Josie and I were talking about heading back to the house to catch up and throw away some of the food your neighbors sent over.” He gives me a sly smile and then returns his attention to my dad. “Would one extra person be okay?”
My dad grunts and gives a barely noticeable nod, and we both know him well enough to know that he has accepted the offer. I shake my head at his response.
“Dad, go ahead to the car. I’ll be there in a couple minutes,” I say, hoping to convince Blake Porter to leave. When Dad is almost at the car, I whip myself around to scowl at the same stubborn Blake I used to know. He has a small cocky smirk playing on his lips, and I don’t like how distractingly handsome he still is.
“You need to leave and never come back around here or me again. I can barely even look at you without wanting to punch you in your stupid face!”
The last part is only partially true; a part of me wants to hit him again, and the other part wants to kiss him. His smile grows a little after he hears me say that, because he knows me well enough to figure out that I really do want to hit him.
“I get that you never wanted to see me again after the last time, Josie. Just let me be here for you today. Let me be your friend this one time. I can help. You know I can help,” he says sincerely. I know he can help, but that scares me.
I take a deep breath and try to sort out my thoughts. He is the last person I need to be talking to, and the second person I’ve wanted to talk to since this happened. I know exactly who is standing before me, and I know without a doubt that if I let him back in, I will be hurt and betrayed all over again.

MY REVIEW:

This story took me by surprise. I was expecting there to be a lot of drama and very little else. While there was indeed a lot of drama, there was still a TON of romance. That's A Promise was full of passion, heart, and the story was heart pounding sexy! I absolutely LOVED the characters and the story was VERY well put together and extremely believable. This felt like this could of happened to a REAL person and I was just floored by how much I liked That's A Promise.
I felt everything with this story was well thought out and the details from the characters, to places, to the events was outstanding and just made perfect sense. The struggles and emotion behind the story was both astounding and worthy of attention. I was grabbed from the beginning of this story to the very end. There was several tear inducing moments in the story as well as some sigh worthy ones too. The ending threw me for a loop and left me gaping in surprise..in the best way! I can't wait to find out what happens in book two.
A FIVE SHOOTING STARS is what this baby deserves and is exactly why I gave it to this romance. Victoria Klahr has a knack for both drama and awe-inspiring and REALISTIC romance that will leave you gripping your seat for more while frustrated because you have to wait for the next book to find out what happens next.

Review of Lacey Temptation (Crave 1) by Amy J. Hawthorn

BLURB:

Ryan Marks is a hunted man. When sweet and sexy stranger, Lacey Briton, becomes a target because of their explosive chemistry, the gloves come off. He calls in his best friend, detective Parker Ellison, to provide protection. All Lacey wanted to do was treat herself to a day of indulgence at the new shop in town, Crave. Instead she finds herself whisked away to a secluded cabin by two men claiming that her safety comes above all else. Parker can see that Lacey is meant for Ryan and refuses to act on his own attraction to the sweet and curvy beauty. But Ryan has other ideas and draws Parker in to teach Lacey the pleasures of a menage where they find more than chemistry when all three hearts become involved. Crave. Equal parts naughty, class, and sass, it's the one place with everything needed to fulfill your desires.

MY REVIEW:

Lacey Temptation was a real treat! I loved the characters, the story was compelling and had me instantly drawn in. The sexual tension between these three characters was outstanding and oh so sexy.

This story kept me glued to my ereader from the moment I started this. I really LOOOVED Lacey. She is smart, fun, and has one kick-ass attitude. I thought Ryan was sexy, smug, sweet, and has the most delicious dominating personality. Parker is strong, determined, just as sexy, and just so edible. I really thought it was fantastic how Ryan and Lacey first met. What better place to meet a gorgeous erotic author then in a sexy store containing, pretty and sexy lingerie and some of the HOTTEST erotic romance.

Lacey Temptation has it all: HOT HOT HOT sex, two sexy men, one lucky woman, and one addicting storyline. I am beyond pleased with Lacey Temptation and am BEGGING for more!! A FIVE OUT OF FIVE SHOOTING STARS is what I give to this incredible sexy romance. If you love a romance featuring two gorgeous men and some super hot, kinky sex, then this is a MUST read for you!

ARC Review of Fitting The Pieces by Janine Infante Bosco

BLURB:

You’ve laughed with them. You’ve cried with them. Now it’s time to say goodbye to the Lanza Family, in the final installment of The Riverdale Series.

Luke Lanza is a man who has always done the responsible thing. He has faced a lot of challenging obstacles in his life; from raising his daughter on his own, to building a successful business, even being the only viable donor that could save his brother’s life. Knowing this about his brother and knowing that he was going to die, Jake asked him to look after the love of his life. Now Luke is torn between the promise he made to his brother and the pull of something he’s never known before.

“Promise me, I need to hear you say it, Luke.”
Luke swallowed. “I promise I’ll take care of Cara, you don’t have to worry about her.” A tear slipped down his cheek as he finished his vow to his little brother.
Jake smiled slightly and closed his eyes. “I could always count on you.”

Cara Sloane is struggling with the loss of her first love and the power of addiction. Jake had been her rock for so long, with him gone she realizes how broken she is. She doesn’t want to feel anything, least of all the emptiness in her heart.

“I know you’re at peace and I should be thankful for that, but I can’t be. I never realized what a selfish person I was. You were suffering and all I could do was pray for you not to leave me.”

A tragic accident leaves Luke and his family pleading with Cara to change the course of her life. Can Cara face her demons and learn there is life after Jake? Can she learn that she can hold onto to the beautiful memories they made together and still live her life?

“I don’t want to fix her because she’s broken.” He said with his own voice sounding a bit broken. “I want to help her because losing her too isn’t an option.”
Individually they try to heal, together they wonder if they can fit the pieces of their broken lives.

MY REVIEW:

Fitting The Pieces is the AMAZINGLY emotional third and final installment in Janine Bosco's  The Riverdale Series. This book left me an emotional wreck. I both loved the drama and hated it. I loved it because it showed how people react when a death occurs and shows how sometimes, love and patience is all it takes to heal another person after a loss of someone they loved. I hated it because in parts of this story, it left me completely sad and hurt...just utterly heartbroken for both Cara and Luke.

Fitting The Pieces has got to be one the most heart-wrenching books I have read this year. It was so well developed and thought out and the characters true and had so much depth, while the story was addicting and fascinating and just felt...REAL while the romance was rich, the sex HOT and all-consuming.  Even though I cried through most of this book, I also felt complete contentment and just amazed at the sincerity and heartfelt moments that Janine Bosco put into her story. It touched me to the bottom of my soul and I was completely satisfied with the final book in this series. Luke is patient, caring and sexy. He never gave up on Cara. He just kept pushing her and taking care of her until the very end. Cara was devastated by the loss of her fiance and Luke's brother Jake. I loved reading her diary to Jake even though sometimes it tore me up. I can understand the loss of the man she loved and understood that the pain sometimes became too much. I am glad though that she eventually let Luke help her. Yea, she lashed out but Luke wouldn't give up and I just felt this was the most heartbreaking and heartfelt story I have read in a long time.

I give Fitting The Pieces by Janine Bosco an AMAZING FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS! Its THAT good! I was happy with how the author did the last book and wouldn't want anything in this third and final book to change. If you like a good emotional romance with real depth and character, then The Riverdale Series may be just the books you need.

ARC Review of Tempting Ecstasy with Blurb and Buy links!

BLURB:

Conn had spent the millennia of his life fighting alongside his brethren as a Guardian of the Four Realms. He’d never allowed himself to imagine that he would be gifted a mate but her scent was inside him now. The intoxicating lure incited his wolf to track her and claim her in a sexual frenzy she could never deny. He refused to repeat the mistakes his brothers had made in their unions, instead he planned to fight the demands of his beast and tempt his female.

Dacia had spent the years of her life as a guardian of her family's secrets. Her days were consumed with helping her siblings search for the Immortals who had escaped the God Apollo’s brutal training camps with her parents thousands of years ago. They were the only hope of finding answers to questions about their lives. Questions her parents hadn’t resolved before their deaths.

Not in her wildest of dreams would Dacia have imagined the answers would instead find her. Or what form those answers would take. The breathtaking male who stepped out of the night and into her life was certainly not one of the hidden Immortals her parents had told of, he was so much more. Wielding both immense power and thrilling strength he aroused not only her body but the wolf hidden within.

Dacia needed to find a way to trust her seductive Guardian, not only with herself, but with her family as well. But how long could she hold out against both the intensity of the mating frenzy that demanded sexual release, and the wickedly sexy male who was tempting not just her body... but also her heart?

MY REVIEW:

Tempting Ecstasy is the fourth novel in A Guardian Of The Realms Series and it may just be my favorite...well other then Ecstasy Claimed. I was absolutely spell bound with this story. Conn is so sexy, seductive, and playful that I found myself swooning, drooling, melting, and panting throughout the whole book! Tempting Ecstasy by Setta Jay had EVERYTHING. A sexy alpha Guardian, one tempting virgin mate, LOTS of sassy fun seduction and so much STEAMY HOT sex that it will leave you moaning and panting for more.

As soon as I found out Mrs Setta Jay was doing Conn's book after Denying Ecstasy I was so excited. Everyday that went by was a day closer to me getting my hands on Conn's story. I knew Conn's was going be another of my favorites in this series. Conn is playful, beyond sexy with tattoos so amazing and well done on his muscular form, that I was almost jealous of Dacia...a character! Can you believe that? But honestly, other then good looks, he has brains, he is protective and loyal and has no problems teaching lessons to Dacia's brothers when they get out of line. Dacia is another great heroine for this particular Guardian. She isn't aware that other Immortals exist until Conn comes into the picture. She has amazing abilities that shocked and pleased Conn. She remained virginal because no human male ever made her want to have sex. She is courageous, loyal to her siblings, innocent yet seductive in her own way. She fits Conn perfectly and when these two get together, I could feel the sexual tension in each chapter sizzle and spark until that incredible moment when they finally came together.

I truly adore Setta's style of writing and think the plot is strong and easy to follow. From the first word to the last, I was hypnotized by the romance and seduced through the whole story from one scene to the next. The sex scenes is probably some of the HOTTEST I have read so far in this series and think its some of my ultimate favorites. I felt utterly satisfied with Conn and Dacia and wouldn't want a SINGLE thing to change with Tempting Ecstasy. There is still lots of excitement, danger, and LOADS of good times. With all the good things in Tempting Ecstasy it was NO hardship in giving this an OUTSTANDING FIVE OUT OF FIVE SHOOTING STARS! If you haven't had the chance to pick this story up then I am shocked and appalled, and INSIST that you run to Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or Smashwords to pick up not just Tempting Ecstasy, but EVERY single book in the A Guardian of the Realms series and see why I recommend over and over again, this series.

MY REVIEW:

I really enjoyed Fakers by Meg Collett. It had so many wonderful things: A sexy bad boy with an attitude, young hot woman who has an inner darkness, a fun, spirited artsy friend, and lots of hot moments and laugh out loud fun. It was also emotional, real, and so very compelling. It had a rich story line, strong plot, and blow your mind wide open romance.

I was enamored right away of sexy Hale Cooper. The contractor with tattoos, an attitude and a VERY lickable body. He was such a strong character. He was surprisingly misunderstood. He also had an incredible protective streak with the ones he cared about, and he had NO problems laying anyone out who messed with his brother. Kyra was a sweet bundle of awesomeness. She is strong willed, determined to make her life her own, she has some issues but she was ALWAYS doing her best to rise above them and boy, her temper was a thing of beauty. Especially when it was pointed at Hale.

I think this book was quite amazing. It had me giggling, rooting for Hale and Kyra, and had the most heartbreaking moments you could imagine. I LOVED every minute and every word in Fakers. FIVE OUT OF FIVE SHOOTING STARS is what I give to Fakers by Meg Collett. It had a bit of EVERYTHING in this romance. Basically this book had the kind of things REAL people in life go through and I found it really refreshing and realistic. I am looking forward to more books by this talented author.

Excerpts
“Well,” Stevie started, picking her spatula back up. “I’m going to start with the most obvious question: Is he a good kisser?”
Kyra bit her lip and nodded, making Stevie roll her eyes dramatically. “It was probably the best kiss I’ve ever had, but that really isn’t saying much since my kissing experience is pretty limited. His skin was warm from where he’d been working. He wasn’t quite sweaty yet, but I could still smell it. When I kissed him, I tasted the salt of it around his lips. I had my legs around his waist—”
“What?” Stevie screeched, throwing her hands in the air and flinging icing everywhere. “That is so not just a kiss! You pounced on the poor guy! You’re a freaking animal!”
“I did,” Kyra agreed, smiling rather dreamily. “I jumped onto him, and he caught me. I could feel the muscles in his arms go all tight to hold me. And then I kissed him, but that didn’t last long.”
“He stopped it?” Stevie asked, slightly breathless.
“No. He starting kissing me back, and it was like…”
“Like what?” Stevie yelled.
“Like he needed to taste every part of my mouth. Like maybe he had wanted to kiss me too, but I was the one that did it first. It kind of felt like he wanted every inch of me, but all he had was my mouth. So he took it. And all I could do was just hold on.” Kyra shrugged when she was finished.
Stevie was wide-eyed with her mouth parted slightly. She blinked as if she was waking up from a dream. Then she shivered. “Well, I’m good to go for another few months.” She squeezed her legs together and made another face. “Oh, yeah. That’ll do.”
