About This Book Title:
The Singer Author: Elizabeth Hunter
Series: Irin Chronicles
Publisher Date: May 6th 2014

When you've lost everything you love, how do you fight the darkness? Ava left Istanbul with a new identity, new name, and new magic she could barely control. Laid low by Malachi's sacrifice, she searches for help from the fabled Irina. But will the secretive women of the Irin race welcome or shun her? Ava's origins are still a mystery, and her powers are darker than any they've encountered before.

The Irin world hangs in the balance. And as the children of angels battle their own demons, ancient rivalries among the Fallen threaten to wreak havoc on earth. Thousand of miles away, a warrior wakes with no memory of his identity or his people. Stumbling though the dark and twisted schemes of fallen angels, ravenous Grigori, and even his own leaders, he must find a way back to the one thing he remembers. A single voice calls him. Malachi has one mission. "Come back to me."

THE SINGER is the second book in the Irin Chronicles, a contemporary fantasy series from Elizabeth Hunter, author of the Elemental Mysteries.

EXCERPT:

Ava. The name fell into his mind and filled it. It brought the memory of air tinged with cloves and roasted hazelnuts.
Who is she?
The old man looked at him, pity in his eyes. She is your mate. You remember nothing of her?
My mate? Not a wife. More than a wife.
Your mate. Your reshon. It is a sacred union.
Reshon?
Your souls were created for each other. And when you marked her with magic, they bonded.
Where is she?
Evren and Rhys exchanged a look. Rhys said, We dont know, but were going to try to find her. We will find her.
She wasnt here. He felt as if he were stumbling through the dark, looking for something just out of his reach.
Malachi, Evren asked. When you woke, you were like this?
Malachi frowned. I was by the river. There was nothing around. But I followed the water and found the farm.
The old retreat, Evren said. He woke near the old retreat. I think when he came back, he was reborn in the exact place he was born the first time.
Rhys said, You think Ava—”
It must have been. I dont know how, but it is the only explanation.
No Irina has the power to—”
No Irina is like Ava. She has no training. She has never been told what she may not do, so who knows what she is capable of?
Malachi broke into their quiet conversation. Youre telling me I died?
Evren and Rhys turned to him.
I died? he asked again. Truly? I died. And I came back to life?
What do you remember?
Nothing. I remember nothing. Just her voice on the wind and the stars overhead. Ive been getting flashes here and there, but I dont remember her. How could I forget her? He felt torn. Incomplete. And it wasnt just the memories he was missing. And you think she did this somehow?
Evren said, We dont know. Not really. But there is no other explanation. Your brothers saw you die. Saw your body turn to dust. Your mate saw you diefelt you die.
But why would Ava be able to—”
She said the words, Rhys said. The words she had heard her whole life. From the souls of everyone who mourned. She came to me before she left. Asked me what it meant. Vashama canem. Come back to me. He turned to Evren. I had no idea. How could I?
There was no way of knowing she could do this, Rhys. No way—”
Wait! Malachi felt a chill creep along his skin. Youre telling me she spoke this command and I answered. Even from beyond death?
Hes telling you words have power, Evren said. Ava asked you to come back to her. And you did.

Its been seven hours, Malachi. Thats enough.
Not finished…” He knewan ancient, aching part of him knew that this magic only touched the edge of what hed once owned. He wanted more.
More power.
More strength.
More.
Enough. Leo squeezed again, and Malachi finally paused. Enough, brother.
Enough for now, Malachi said, finishing the last character on a spell that he knew would help him see more clearly through deception.
Fine. Leo sounded amused. Enough for now. And you better not eat anything for at least a day. Youll be sick from it. Its well past midnight. Go lie down and let your system even out.
Malachi knew what he needed and, though his skin was still bloody and raw, hed never wished more fervently that his mate was nearby.
Evren must have come back to the ritual room sometime in the previous hours. He took one look at Malachis expression and raised an eyebrow.
Shower, then lie down. Leos right. Youre flush with magic. How do you feel?
Malachis voice was rough. Strong.
And hungry. Hed never felt more hungry.
He rose and put one hand on the wall to steady himself. His left arm ached where his new talesm shone, glowing in the candlelight. The spells had reached halfway up his arm before Leo stopped him. He slowly walked toward the door, leaning against the wall for another moment to let a wave of dizziness pass.
Leo laughed and slapped his right shoulder before he hefted an arm around Malachi and led him toward his room.
This, my brother, is as close to intoxicated as we get. Enjoy.
All Malachi could think was hed enjoy it a lot more with his soft mate under him.
He managed to make it into his room and get cleaned off before he fell into bed, exhausted, wired, and aching.
Come to me, he whispered before he fell into dreams.
She was there when he opened his eyes. The fog lifted just enough to reveal her form, standing on the edge of the dark wood. The misty air nipped at his bare skin as he ran to her. She must have heard him a moment before he reached her, because she was already turning and her mating marks gleamed gold in the low light.
He didnt speak. He simply picked her up at the waist and walked to the edge of the wood, laying her down on a bed of leaves that appeared before him. She opened her mouth, but he covered it with his own, catching her gasp as he spread her legs and lay in the cradle of her body.
He kissed her over and over again. Her fingers twisted in his hair and dug into his neck, pulling him closer. Her legs wrapped around his hips.
More, she murmured when his mouth left hers and he buried his face in her neck, biting the soft skin there as she arched beneath him. More.
Yes.

ARC Review of Laird's Submissive by Dace Everan

BLURB:

Layle Evans is bound, gagged, and blindfolded. As a newbie this is beyond her comfort level. Laird, owner of a BDSM club, steps in and saves Layle from obvious distress. Laird's inner Dom demands that he take care of the little sub. Bad memories from Layle’s past come to surface. Being gang raped by fellow comrades haunts her. Layle needs to face her fears and Laird wants to help her.

Laird Roan never, ever, under any circumstances messes with the subs in his establishment. Especially not ones that have no interest in his kink. Why does the sensual Layle have a pull on him? Is it her determination to push herself and her limits? Or is it that her number one "No" is his kink? Can Laird and Layle find a compromise? Can they find the love that is pulling them together?

MY REVIEW:

Even though Laird's Submissive was a short read, it is still packed full of  HOTNESS! I really enjoyed Laird. Other then the fact he was downright dreamy looking, he was incredibly smart, patient, kind, and caring. I liked the fact he wanted to heal and love Layle.
Layle was a very great character. I felt awful about what happened to her. I can't imagine the trauma and pain she went through as she was brutally gang raped and almost killed. But I did like the fact that she trusted Laird. I know with certain things (like when dealing with the masks) she had a hard time dealing with them, but it showed true respect and love when Laird realized he might of pushed her a little too far. He still remained with her and continued to work with her on her fears.
I also enjoyed that Laird's Submissive wasn't creepy in the BDSM department. In other words I didn't feel like there was things being done in the book that I wouldn't do. I was comfortable reading the BDSM scenes and was amazed at how well thought out everything seemed to be and how sensual the BDSM play was.
I felt that Laird's Submissive deserved a full FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS! It really is a sexy, well written book with endearing characters and a nice storyline.
This book ROCKED by Dace Everan! If you haven't picked up this book, do so..like NOW!

ARC Review of Cop A Feel by Robyn Peterman

BLURB:

When you get time off for bad behavior, romance is the last thing on your mind--but good old-fashioned lust is a whole different story. . .

Life undercover isn't exactly one big party--not when you're a DEA agent--but it sure beats a desk job. Except when you screw up big and someone has to go in and clean up after you. In that case, even paper-pushing sounds better than babysitting an erotic romance writer with as many enemies as there are euphemisms for "throbbing manhood."

I've been taking down drug dealers for so long, playing bodyguard to a woman named Shoshanna Lehump sounds like nothing more than a giant pain in my ass-- and being partnered with the gorgeous egotistical jerk I never should have slept with in the first place just makes a bad situation even harder--especially when he pursues me as diligently as we're supposed to be chasing the bad guys...What's a girl have to do to get a happy ending anyway?

MY REVIEW:

Cop A Feel is a wacky, laugh-out-loud good time that will leave you doubled over with laughter. This was such an enjoyable, hilarious romantic comedy that I will no doubt be reading over and over again.
This is the third book in Robyn Peterman's Handcuffs and Happily Ever Afters Series. I have loved this series since book one and can't seem to get enough of them! I hope Ms. Peterman will keep this series going for a LOOOONG time.
I found myself laughing hysterically at the antics of the characters. I think one of the BEST parts in the book, was when Shoshanna gives Luke and Candy a goodie bag. I laughed so hard I cried! I LOVED it!
Luke and Candy, DEA agents, go on a little job as bodyguards to the famous author, Shoshanna Lehump and go with her to a book convention called SCREW-con. This trip turns out to be a blast with lots of laugh-out-loud moments, some slightly naughty moments, (*dreamy sigh*) and some downright good times. I absolutely LOVED the outfits both Luke and Candy were forced to where to fit in and not look like bodyguards. The outfits Luke wore had even me practically drooling. I also liked how Shoshanna took it upon herself to make Luke her adopted son! That character is just so fun and caring, I can't help but to like her.
With all this being said, I couldn't give Cop A Fell anything less then a full FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS! Its a truly good read. If you find yourself looking for a good book with lots of humor, romance, and fun characters, then I suggest you run over and check out Robyn Peterman's Handcuffs and Happily Ever After Series! You WILL NOT be disappointed.

ARC Review of Fate by Nikki Sex

BLURB:

How far would you go to get something you really wanted?

Emily Malone has had a crush on her brother’s best friend, Paul, all her life.

Unfortunately, he just sees her as his friend's little sister.

Desperate and infatuated, Emily resorts to lies and deception.

She only needs one night with Paul, to finally get over this obsessive crush.

But Fate has other ideas. . .

MY REVIEW:

I was really surprised by Fate. From the blurb, I just thought it was about a couple finally finding love together but its SOOO much better and more then that. Fate almost reminded me of the Fifty Shades Series. But this book I actually liked! The characters are interesting, sexy, curious and the book is well written with a nice storyline. The sex was spectacular and provocative.
I really liked how Emily ended up going to a kink club to get trained for submission and to prepare herself for the kind of sex Paul likes. She ended up not just liking it but in a way, craving it just as much as Paul.
The fact that there was some BDSM in the book was a surprise I wasn't quite expecting, considering the Blurb never mentioned it at all. That threw me for a loop and totally made this book SOOO much better.
Fate is a tempting read I couldn't put down. I give this incredibly sexy story a FOUR AND A HALF STARS OUT OF FIVE STARS. Its plain wicked and oh so delicious.

ARC Review of Redemption at Midnight by Mary Moriarty

BLURB:

Bella is the only daughter of former Vampire King, Cormac O’Heachthanna. She spent the first four hundred years or so in peace, happiness and love. Surrounded by her loving and strong father and brother. Then came the 1900s and with that women demanding their rights… and Bella starting to spread her wings.
By WWII Bella was in the thick of it. Working for the British as a spy. She goes to Germany where she would fit in to try and persuade top officials to come to the Allies side. No one prepared Bella that her objective was a dashing, German Aristocrat. Pictures didn’t capture his charm and personality… The reports only stated he was the architect of the concentration camps in Europe and the elimination of the Jews.
He was responsible for the worst crimes against the Jews but Bella fell for him hard and thought her love would change him or she would.
Problem is she never did, so her father and brother had him killed.
Bella spiraled out of control and would have perished had it not been for her dearest friends from a coven of witches in England.
Brent O’ Hara has been a Marine for almost half his life. He lived to go to battle. He was finally called up for a Special Ops unit with none other than Cormac O’ Heachthanna. Both he and his brother joined. After three years his brother is mortally wounded and changed. Seven months later without the backup of his brothers in arms he is on a mission, doing a sweep of a village when an IED kills four and severely wounds Brent. He wakes up to the bottoms of his legs missing and one of his hands also gone. He then knew he would never be good for anything again… or so he thought. He needed to heal and Cormac knows just who would be the one to help. His daughter Bella… only she hasn’t spoken to him in sixty years.
Redemption at Midnight brings back some of the beloved characters of One Thousand Years to Forever and I’ve Been Waiting for You. There are also some new characters that you will fall in love with.
Can Bella and Brent find healing and love before it’s too late?

MY REVIEW:

First off, I got to mention how much I love this cover. It was what stood out for me first. Its dark with gorgeous coloring with a title that was just as tempting as the cover. But it was the blurb that caught my attention and had me wanting to read this story.
Redemption at Midnight was brilliantly written with a strong storyline, compelling characters, and touching moments that left me completely breathless and amazed.
Bella is a GORGEOUS woman, a vampire who has never known love and wants to. We have Brent a man who was once an Ops until he lost both his lower legs and his hand in an IED blast. He is very upset and bitter over everything and thinks he is no good for anything anymore.
When Bella and Brent get together, they both learn that all it takes to heal is each other. The fact that Bella NEEDS Brent in her time of "needing" was a spectacular thing to read about.
I think this book was beautiful, touching, and down right perfect! I give Redemption at Midnight a FOUR AND A HALF OUT OF FIVE STARS! I HIGHLY suggest you pick up a copy today and read what everyone is talking about. I don't think you will be disappointed.

ARC Reviews of Self's Blossom and An Ecstatic Rendezvous by David Russell

BLURB:

A romantic, erotic tale of a vivid portrayal of the
quest for the inner truth, empowerment and
sexual liberation of Selene, a woman searching for
primeval abandon and reckless adventure.
Intelligent, a university graduate and a successful
careerist, Selene became emotionally scarred by
unhappy relationships. Riled and taunted through
the years by her former college roommate Janice,
Selene gave in to the long-term desire to „get one
back‟ at Janice by having a passionate holiday
encounter.
Immediately drawn to the sea and enthralled
by its brutal yet sensual waves, Selene seduces a
young boy on a deserted beach. Once she comes to
meets the mature and powerful Hudson, Selene
finally begins to claim her sensual destiny.
Through a slow process, accentuated by Selene‟s
shyness, introspection and circumspection, she
embarks on a long and elaborate interplay of
leading on and rejection. The volcanic passion
builds until there is a blazing row. A possible
drowning, the final ritual undressing at long last,
leads to the ultimate flowering of the woman
Selene was meant to be.

MY REVIEW:
Self's Blossom felt...different then most erotic romances I have read in the past. The story pretty much follows just one character and that is Selene. The majority of the story is about Selene doing some self reflecting on many things in her life. I got to read along as Selene has a few sexual encounters but there really isn't too much of a happily ever after. (Its not a bad thing at all, just something I don't usually see in a romance.)
The one thing I felt made Self's Blossom interesting was the style of writing and how almost old fashioned some of the wording was. It had an almost sweetness to it that I felt was charming. Self's Blossom is the kind of book you can read, anytime and anywhere and not feel you are reading a dirty book, (nothing wrong AT ALL with anything naughty of course) but when your out and about sometimes its easier to read something less naughty because you don't want to feel like someone is judging you by what your reading. I can definitely be comfortable reading this book as I'm waiting for  doctor's visit or if I'm just in public someplace enjoying a good book.
I wouldn't really say Self's Blossom was entirely erotic. Its sweet, easy to read, and just plain decent. I would recommend this story to someone who enjoys their erotica more on the soft and sweet side then on the dirty, naughty side.
I give Self's Blossom a THREE OUT OF THREE STARS. Its a fairly good read with a touch of erotica.

BLURB:

A very handsome but shy man yearns to have a one-night stand with a sexy woman. One day he decided to step out of his comfort zone and gained enough courage to ask a girl out.

MY REVIEW:

An Ecstatic Rendezvous is a shorty story about a young man wanting the courage to have a one night stand with a good looking woman. This was a short, slightly more interested read by David Russell. I thought it was well written, with a decent storyline and a good set up. Since this is such a short read, I won't dive into the book, even a little bit, but I will say I thought this was quite interesting. I give An Ecstatic Rendezvous a THREE OUT OF THREE STARS. If your looking for a short read and looking for something completely different then the average erotica I suggest you try one of David Russell's books.

Review of Their Virgin Secretary by Shayla Black and Lexi Blake

BLURB:

Tate Baxter, Eric Cohen, and Kellan Kent are partners for one of the most respected law practices in Chicago. But these three masters of the courtroom also share a partnership in the bedroom, fulfilling the darkest needs of their female submissives night after night. Everything was fine—until they hired Annabelle Wright as their administrative assistant.

One beautiful secretary…

Belle felt sure she’d hit the jackpot with her job, but in the last year, the three gorgeous attorneys have become far more than her bosses. They’re her friends, her protectors, and in Belle’s dreams, they’re her lovers, too. But she’s given her heart to them all, so how can she choose just one?

An unforgettable night…

When her bosses escort her to a wedding, drinks and dancing turn into foreplay and fantasy. Between heated kisses, Belle admits her innocence. Surprise becomes contention and tempers flare. Heartbroken and unwilling to drive them apart, Belle leaves the firm and flees to New Orleans.

That leads to danger.

Resolved to restore her late grandmother’s home, she hopes she can move on without the men. Then Kellan, Tate, and Eric show up at her doorstep, seeking another chance. But something sinister is at work in the Crescent City and its sights are set on her. Before the trio can claim Annabelle for good, they just might have to save her life.

MY REVIEW:

Another phenomenal book in Shayla Black and Lexi Blake's Masters of Menage Series! Their Virgin Secretary is full of suspense, amazingly sexy men, one saucy secretary, and sex so hot, it will melt you on the spot.
With these Masters of Menage Series, I know I am getting a quality book with EVERYTHING I LOVE about ménage and romance. I like the affection all three men have for their Belle and I enjoy the camaraderie these men have with each other. I enjoy seeing how they rely and interact with each other and I love, and I mean LOVE seeing how comfortable they all are being together. Not sexually of course, but the fact that they don't feel threatened or weird to be in the same room naked with Belle between them. Its what makes these stories so special to me.
We have some great characters too.
We got the sexy nerd, Tate who can't seem to stop spurting out intelligent and scientific information at the oddest times and who is socially awkward but is SEXY AS HELL and is incredibly smart and bad tempered too at times. He loves running around without his shirt on. Who can blame him either? He is sexy, and enjoys working out and showing off his body only to his sweet Belle. We also got Eric who is the glue that keeps them together. The one that keeps his cool around tight situations and who is also incredibly sexy, but also charming and fun to be around. Now Kellen is a dark, brooding Dom who had his heart broken by his ex wife and seems to want to keep his distance from Belle yet can't seem to stay away. He is also very protective and just like the other two, very sexy, in a almost dangerous kind of way.
Belle is the sweet, sassy secretary that decides since the guys won't go after her, she will leave and start her life else where. But that just does NOT work for the guys. They track her down and refuse to leave until they have her in their bed and in her heart.
I LOVED this story. I gave Their Virgin Secretary a FOUR OUT OF FIVE STARS! Its passionate, sexy, all-consuming, and just plain H-O-T. If you haven't picked up Lexi and Shayla's Menage Series, well then your missing out on a super sexy Series that will leave you breathless for more!

ARC Review of Trusting Chance by Caitlyn O' Leary

BLURB:

Josie Decker and Chance Reynolds knew each other years ago when they were in the same foster home, before Josie’s birth mother reclaimed her. Now, Chance and his best friend, Sam Booth an Afghan war veteran are living in Fate Harbor, Washington, when Josie reestablishes ties with her foster parents and opens a bakery in the quaint town.

Chance realizes that growing up with her birth mother has left Josie with physical and emotional scars and a deep belief that she is unworthy of love. Fate Harbor is very accepting of triad alliances, and Chance believes that the relationship that will ultimately heal Josie is one that includes both he and Sam. Sam’s recent trauma, fighting for his country, has left him beyond hurt.

Chance has despaired of saving the brother of his heart, but finding Josie again has given him hope, and a plan. Can the three of them make the perfect future together?

MY REVIEW:

Trusting Chance is Caitlyn O' Leary's debut novel and I think its a perfect start to a WONDERFUL series! This book has SO MUCH going for it. It reminded me of some of my favorite authors and their series: Heather Rainier's Divine Creek Ranch Series, Cara Covington's Lusty, Texas Series, Sophie Oak's Bliss, Colorado Series. This is just one reason why Trusting Chance was such a great read for me. I love a story where the men take care of their woman. In EVERY way! It was sensual, sexy, engrossing, and down right drool and sigh worthy.
We have some FABULOUS characters too.
We got Josie a beautiful dark skinned woman who has such a hard time believing a man can find her attractive, let alone two. She is insecure yet at the same time, she is a firecracker and such a brave, strong heroine. She took care of her two young sisters growing up and ended up with a BAD back injury to do the abuse of her mom which led to some surgeries and Josie taking charge of the house and her sisters lives. When she moves back to her foster parents town, she starts to fall in love with Chance, the kid she got to know in her foster parents home. Chance is strong and kind, charming and funny. He knows Josie is it for him the moment he realizes she is moving back. Once Josie gets there, sparks fly between her and Chance's room mate and best friend, Sam and soon they start this delicious, magical journey through their very own ménage.
Trusting Chance is one of the BEST debut novels I read and I have no doubt Ms. Leary will be on Bookstrand's Best Seller's list in no time. I give this book A FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS! Caitlyn O' Leary will be going on my MUST buy list for now on. I sincerely LOVED this book. Its well-written, easy to follow, and just a downright delicious read.

ARC Review of Pieces by Janine Infante Bosco

BLURB:

Jake Lanza is one of Riverdale New York’s favorite sons. He owns a tattoo parlor in the small upstate town and prides himself on being a fun-loving, live by the seat of your pants type of guy. He has everything he wants in life, a thriving business, a great family and a best friend with whom he could never live without.

Cara Sloane weaved her way into Jake’s life when they were fifteen years old. After her life fell apart at such a young age, Jake helped her heal, and began to pick up the pieces of her fallen life. His unconventional ways slowly had him becoming the anchor in her life.

Now fourteen years later Jake begins to see Cara in a new light. The things he thought he never wanted, he suddenly began to yearn for. The only problem was they were both too frightened to lose the greatest love either of them has ever known. Can Jake convince Cara there is more for them than just a friendship? Is he willing to take that gamble himself?

MY REVIEW:

This was a very well written contemporary romance. I really enjoyed the fact that Cara and Jake were best friends that became lovers. I think these two knowing so much about each other for so long just made things that much better as they went from being best friends, to being a couple too. They were perfect together and just so sweet. Heck I wish I could just hop inside the book and take their picture because I can see clearly that they would look A-M-A-Z-I-N-G together.
This story fell together so nicely. I was pleasantly surprised how much I actually liked it. At first I thought maybe it would be really boring and just..I don't know, blah, but it WASN'T! It was catchy, sweet, sexy, romantic, and just plain interesting. I am looking forward to the next book eagerly.
Jake and Cara looked super good together at the race track. I enjoyed reading how much Cara enjoyed Jake kissing her. I could practically feel the heat coming off the pages as I read. WOW! I was however a bit scared along with Cara when Jake started having issues after doing is stunt on his motorcycle. But it kind of makes things worse when it has been happening a LOT for Jake throughout the book, but I think it added to the story because the whole time I'm reading it I keep thinking, "what's wrong with him?" then I would bite my lip nervously. I usually don't get that into a story but when I do, I know it is a spectacular book.
Well before I give the WHOLE book away I better stop while I'm ahead.
Rating this book was simple. I gave this glorious piece of work a FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS! Its an engrossing read that I HIGHLY recommend.
