MY REVIEW:

When I was first asked if I would do a review for this book that has nothing to do with romance, I thought, "I don't know, I am not a How to Guide type of girl" but when I checked out the blurb and seen the title I realized this could help all sorts of wonderfully nice, normal people succeed. So immediately after that thought, I went ahead and accepted the review because, lets face it, us nice people sometimes are not sure if we can make it, especially in such a cold, cruel world.
There is a TON of great advice on ways for nice people to make it work in this world. Anthony's thoughts are realistic and thorough and he seems to have a almost..therapeutic sense to each point he makes in this book. He is honest, to the point, and blunt without any meanness you would expect. Even though I don't normally read or rate this type of book because I am a FULL romance fan ALL the way, but just this once, I am glad I made a exception and I rate this at a FOUR OUT OF FIVE STARS. If you are wondering how to make it in this mean world, please pick up Anthony Casuccio's Be Nice: Nice People Can Succeed. A Practical Guide for a Mean World.

Review of Sex, Lies, and Sweet Tea by Kris Calvert

BLURB:

Hotter than hell and half of Alabama, FBI Agent, Mac Callahan is thirsty for everything except love. Coming home to bust a white-collar crime ring, Mac intends to execute his usual practice with work and women¬ – get in, get it on and get out. Instead, he finds himself unexpectedly drawn to the legacy of his family, his plantation, and the charms of a Southern girl. Samantha Peterson possesses everything he needs in a woman, including the evidence to wrap his case. As the investigation heats up, so does their passion and a dangerous game ignites. But, then again, everything’s hotter in the South.

MY REVIEW:

Hello all, I am happy to say I am doing a review for another wonderful "new" (well new for me) author, Kris Calvert. Sex, Lies, and Sweet Tea is one book you will want to grab, along with some ice tea, a box of decadent chocolate and head to your favorite reading spot for a read that will leave you more then satisfied with a nice little grin on your face.
I really liked both Sam and Mac. They are both pleasing characters and just fun to read about. I really enjoyed how they first met, with Mac taking down a security guard from a nursing home his mother is in. Mac of course, was just in the wrong room and when the tenant gave a shout of fright, the nice security guard thought he needed to possibly take down Mac but I found it highly amusing as instead, Mac takes him down while explaining he was only looking for his mother's room and just got lost and went into the wrong room. That's when he sees Sam, all pretty and gazing on and he knows he just HAS to have her. Sam finds Mac both amazing and attractive. She feels an immediate reaction to him and in no time, Mac has Sam where he wants her the most..in his bed!
In Sex, Lies, and Sweet Tea we get to see how Southern men are with their women and their loved ones. Sure makes me want to be in the South! I like how they treat their staff (cooks, butlers, nannies etc.) with respect and makes them feel like family. They never disregard what they say and sure never makes them feel unworthy just because of their status in the household and that, to me, is just plain fantastic.
Now one of the things that touched me and made me want to sniffle, was the very end of the book. I really enjoyed seeing something special from Mac's father and it sure was a doozy! Your curious now I bet, huh? Well to find out what I'm referring to you best be running to Amazon and grabbing up your copy to find out.
Sex, Lies, and Sweet Tea deserves a FOUR AND A HALF OUT OF FIVE STARS in my book! It is a well written story with lots of passion, romance, light humor, and pleasant and caring characters. Its a feel good read that you will NOT want to miss.

Review of Sympony of Light and Winter by Renea Mason

BLURB:
Symphony of Light Book One

One woman. Seven men. All bound by one man’s undying devotion.

Fundraiser Linden Hill has a knack for reading people. She always knows which conversations will put a prospect at ease, which drink will loosen a patron’s lips—or his wallet, and how cleavage will make a donor sweeten the deal. She’s even foreseen her dateless weekends four hundred and sixty-four times in a row.

But ten years after watching life drain from her former mentor’s and first love’s eyes, her skills for divining the predictable are lost. When Cyril returns, he’s still gorgeous, but this time he’s beyond human, far less dead, and pissed. His lack of memory drives him to desperate acts, and his turbulent re-acquaintance with Linden pulls her into his war with a creature hell-bent on his destruction. His group of six supernatural men share a tantalizing secret, but despite the hunger, it’s love that leads her to sacrifice everything to save him…

MY REVIEW:
The first thing that caught my attention about Symphony of Light and Winter was its stunning cover. The colors just pop and the title is just amazing. It reached out and grabbed my complete attention. I was definitely more then happy to do a review for this wonderful book and author. This is a paranormal romance with some amazing and interesting characters. You have the sexy Cyril who makes most women drop their panties, and the feisty heroine, Linden who is all cool, collected and is shocked when Cyril comes back into her life..after she watches him die a few years earlier.
Cyril made me smile, groan and even laugh. He was such a bad-ass at first but he was also a wonderful protector and Linden couldn't help but feel confused and conflicted whenever she was around him. I loved it!
I was completely  fascinated by the action, passion, and paranormal elements as the book progresses. Symphony of Light and Winter is a book full of action, passion, lust, good, bad, evil, and everything in-between. Basically, the perfect romance. Usually as I am reading a book, the rating comes to me either right away or just as I'm finishing it. This one came to me pretty easily and right from the start. I gave this a FOUR AND A HALF STARS OUT OF FIVE!
If you are looking for a paranormal read featuring memorable characters and plenty of action and steamy moments, I really think you will enjoy this book.

Review of Ecstasy Unbound by Setta Jay

BLURB:

As one of the twelve Guardians of the Realms, Urian has spent the last several centuries in a constant battle to keep the inhabitants of Earth’s Realms under control. Humanity needed to evolve, hell beasts needed to die, and Immortal races needed mates. Unfortunately, he found that he cared less about duty, and more about when his sexy voyeur would again grace the shadows to watch as he and his brother Guardian shared one of the human females frequenting the club. All Guardians were forbidden contact with the little goddess and her brothers, but his need for her was escalating. He found it more difficult than ever to keep from pinning her face down on the nearest surface, and making her his.

Alexandra and her brothers have avoided exile from the human Realm for centuries, ever since the Creators sent the Gods to sleep for their sins against humanity, and banished the Immortals. She has always known that she was needed on Earth. Only once had she gone against her instincts and the price she paid will forever haunt her. It is for that reason she forces herself to stay away from the only male that has ever truly enticed her. The only one that has ever made her flesh heat, and her stomach quiver with desire.

In desperate need to help her beloved brother, she will have to go to the enthralling Guardian, her dark obsession. He is her best hope to get the help she needs, even though he would surely attempt to exile her. She won't go easily…

MY REVIEW:

Ecstasy Unbound was an amazing book! It reminded me a bit of Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter Series. Except this book has much more AMAZINGLY hot sex.. There was even a bit of menage throughout the book. I was quite satisfied and really glad I got to read and review this book for Setta Jay.
I REALLY liked the characters and the chemistry that sparks between them. Urian is such a strong, lickable..I mean likable male. He is strong, sexy, devoted, caring, and is slightly dangerous and he just SCREAMS sex appeal. I loved his strong connection to Alex and how much he desires her. Since she is his mate, he has a very extreme need to protect her but he is also very proud of her abilities and admires her strength as a goddess.
Alex has amazing abilities but yet at the same time they are kind of dangerous because she is so vulnerable when she leaves her body. She has been through some hardships and is really tough and has such a gentle heart. I really liked her a lot and thought she was a very loyal and caring sibling to her over protective brothers. I felt kind of bad for her though because she couldn't really control all her powers so when she was raped years earlier when she left her body, her brothers and her agree to help her form a shield around her to protect her when she is in danger or when she is vulnerable. Only down fall to that is  her brothers can sense where she is and if she has a orgasm, her brothers can sense it..talk about awkward. I also liked her brothers and how protective they were to their sister.
Ecstasy Unbound flows really well and is a well written book with some SEXY AS SIN warriors, good hell-hounds, SMOKIN' hot sex, and is just a very enjoyable read. If you read and enjoyed books by Sherrilyn Kenyon, then I think you will enjoy Ecstasy Unbound. I give this book a FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS!

Now Callie is torn between Sean and Thorpe, and though she’s unsure whom she can trust, she’ll have to surrender her body and soul to both—if she wants to elude a killer…

MY REVIEW:

When I was offered the opportunity to review Theirs to Cherish there was NO WAY I was going to turn it down. I have been in love with these Wicked Lover books since Wicked Ties. With each one I have been more and more entranced with the characters. Thorpe has always been a secret crush of mine mainly because he was the head-honcho of Dominion and frankly, I have been a HUGE fan of not just the alpha male, but the TOP alpha male and with Thorpe being the owner of Dominion, you can't get more TOP then that.

Sean was a surprise for me. I always assumed his Scottish accent was real so imagine my surprise when I learned his was..well NOT real. But he is no less attractive in my eyes. I love his protective side and his extreme need to give EVERYTHING to Callie. He is charming, sexy, stern, and yes, caring. I am in no way saying Thorpe isn't any of those things. He certainly has a very great need to keep Callie safe at ALL cost, even if it means locking her away for her own good. Thorpe is definitely sexy, a bit more alpha and has a much serious side. The fact that he denies his feelings for Callie doesn't make me think of him any less, because what he doesn't say in words, he says in his actions.

Callie was another great surprise with me. I was expecting her to be a bit bratty, especially from what I gathered about her in previous books, but I in no way expected her to be as resourceful or cunning as she turned out to be in this book. I LOVED her submissive side but I absolutely adored her independent side. The side that demanded she protect herself by hiding and blending into her environment as she eluded bounty hunters and assassins for about nine years. Her disguises were perfect and when she goes into hiding it took both Sean and Thorpe a few days to find her because she was THAT good at hiding.
It definitely got interesting when they finally caught up to her.

By time they got Callie back their passion ignites and things turn heated quickly. The sex is absolutely SCORCHING between these three! I had such a hard time putting this book down. Shayla Black blended the perfect combination of hotter then hot sex, suspense, romance, and the happily ever after you expect from one of her Wicked Lover books. I gave this book a FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS! It's a wonderfully written romance for sure. It made me cry, laugh, squirm, sigh, and bite my nails with each turn of the page. I can't get enough of these books! If you like your romance with a bit of suspense and a whole lot of HOT sex, then I highly recommend you pick up one of Shayla Black's Wicked Lover books, heck you might just want to get them ALL and be prepared to get satisfied.

Review of Fashionably Dead by Robyn Peterman

BLURB:

Vampyres don’t exist. They absolutely do not exist.

At least I didn’t think they did ‘til I tried to quit smoking and ended up Undead. Who in the hell did I screw over in a former life that my getting healthy equates with dead?

Now I’m a Vampyre. Yes, we exist whether we want to or not. However, I have to admit, the perks aren’t bad. My girls no longer jiggle, my ass is higher than a kite and the latest Prada keeps finding its way to my wardrobe. On the downside, I’m stuck with an obscenely profane Guardian Angel who looks like Oprah and a Fairy Fighting Coach who’s teaching me to annihilate like the Terminator.

To complicate matters, my libido has increased to Vampyric proportions and my attraction to a hotter than Satan’s underpants killer rogue Vampyre is not only dangerous . . . it’s possibly deadly. For real dead. Permanent death isn’t on my agenda. Avoiding him is my only option. Of course, since he thinks I’m his, it’s easier said than done. Like THAT’S not enough to deal with, all the other Vampyres think I’m some sort of Chosen One.

Holy Hell, if I’m in charge of saving an entire race of blood suckers, the Undead are in for one hell of a ride

MY REVIEW:
Another great book by the fun and talented author, Robyn Peterman. I had read this when it was first released but when I was asked if I would like to do a review for Fashionably Dead I knew I had to do a reread to refresh my brain. I forgot how entertaining this was. This book took vampyres to a new and exciting place, making them unique but with certain qualities you would expect from the "normal" vampires. I ADORED it too!
We have such a combination of quirky and outrageous characters. From the Oprah look-a-like Guardian Angel who is strangely named Pam, not Oprah, and a Fairy Couch who looks like just like Mr. Arnold Schwarzenegger. A cute little vampire by the name of Paris Hilton and another vampire (this one absolutely stunning!) by the name of Venus not to mention the not-quite-mortal best friend Gemma. And what a good friend she is too! She offered Astrid her wrist after she was turned. Now THAT is what a true friend is! We also have these loveable, yet slightly ugly demon babies that adore  Astrid and help her here and there. I REALLY find it cool that they eat glitter magic that Astrid throws at them. They seem..sweet in a creepy kind of way, yet I find myself adoring these creepy little demons throughout this book.
Astrid is the heroine and one I very much like. She is fun, caring, funny, and has the hots for the Warrior Prince, Ethan. Honestly, I can't blame her for having the hots for Ethan either. He is gorgeous, extremely sexy, charming, amusing and has equal attraction for Astrid. Which makes perfect sense since she is his destined mate AND the Chosen One. Fashionably Dead is an outrageously fun, amusing  romp with plenty of romance, comedy, sex so hot it will feel like your on fire and plenty of twists and turns and awesome tricks and adventure around every corner. I am SO DYING for the next book in this new Hot Damned Series! I give this a FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS! Its a wonderfully written book of awesome-sauce and I can't wait for more. You HAVE to go pick this book up and check out this masterpiece yourself!

Review of Size Matters by Robyn Peterman

BLURB:

A few hard truths...Don’t bet on Hasselhoff, Bigfoot might actually exist, and searching for the impossible may lead you to your heart’s desire... It’s a big fat hairy deal when I lose yet another bet to my best friend, Rena. Not only do I end up attending Bigfoot meetings with her kooky Aunt Phyllis, I find myself traveling with a band of reality TV, Sasquatch-hunting nut-jobs! Not to mention a suspiciously shady film crew. As if those little nuggets weren’t enough to send me on the express-train to Crazytown...I stupidly swore off men! Clearly all this would mess up any gal’s social life, but the worst part of the story? The minute I send my libido on vacation, I meet Mitch. Yep, Mitch, the sexiest cop ev-ah. The hottest, best kissing, finest tushied, SINGLE guy I’ve ever laid eyes on. I’d rather be hot on his trail than anything that involves the word Big or Foot. But sometimes what you’re hunting for has been right in front of you all along …

MY REVIEW:

I was abso-freaking-lutely HAPPY to do a review for Size Matters. I knew after reading the first few sentences of chapter one I was in for another hilarious riot. Robyn Peterman creativity thrills and AMAZES me! I laughed, I cried, I was even speechless with the variety of words for the female bits. To say I couldn't put this book down is a understatement. Every time I went to put my kindle down to do something, I was smiling, anticipating what would happen next in the book until I couldn't stand it anymore and dived for my kindle again, eagerly devouring the words on the pages.
I really thought Edith and Mrs. C were a real hoot! They seemed so mean yet by the end you actually find out they care..they just prefer hiding it behind a mask of insults (which were hilarious) and meanness. Boo and Mariah were really interesting to get to know. Boo was a psychic and such a tender hearted person and Mariah is a tiny woman with anger issues that tends to solve problems by breaking noses and kneeing testicles. She may sound like a man but when I found out why, I nearly cried.
Mitch is another HOT COP that has a  fetish with using handcuffs in the most delightful ways on Kristy. I found myself wishing constantly that he was real. He is FREAKING SMOKING HOT! Kristy is a sweet person who runs a homeless shelter and is just as fun as her best friend Rena who ended up falling HARD for Mitch from the moment she meets him. When she is forced to go on a Bigfoot hunt do to a bet she lost, things turn funny and she ends up having a good time, even when she is missing Mitch..but he isn't too far behind.
This was another laugh-out-loud romantic comedy with good, fun, sexy characters, plenty of adventures, and amusing dialogue that will have you rolling on the floor laughing your butt off and the sparks between Mitch and Kristy is out of this world, and the sex is definitely VERY satisfying. I wish I could give this a ten stars but since I am unable to do that I will settle with a FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS. Size Matters is one of those books I want to read over and over again just to see if I missed anything. A major MUST MUST MUST READ.

Review of How Hard Can It Be? by Robyn Peterman

BLURB:
What happens when an accountant decides to grab life by the horns and try something new? Apparently a pirate named Dave, a lot of pastel fleece, and blackmail--just to start with. . .
Visualize and succeed, Oprah said. I was sure as hell trying, even if my campaign to score a job as the local weather girl had ended in a restraining order. Okay, TV was not my strength. But a lack of talent has never stopped me before. Which is why I've embarked on a writing career. I mean, how hard can it be to come up with a sexy romance?
Leave it to me to wind up in a group of porno writing grannies who discuss sex toys and apple cobbler in the same breath. Also leave it to me to leak an outlandish plot idea to a bestselling author with the morals of a rabid squirrel. And only I could get arrested for a jewelry heist I didn't commit--by a hunky cop whose handcuffs just might tempt me to sign up for a life of crime. Maybe I've found my calling after all. . .

MY REVIEW:
When I was asked if I was interested in doing a review for an AMAZINGLY fun author on this book I was ecstatic and couldn't imagine declining. The moment I opened this book, I was swept away with the potty-mouthed Rena, with her porno granny friends and her outrageous adventures as she attempts to write a horrible, disgusting romance for a evil best selling author with a horrible fetish for fake boobies and crappy taste in fashion and art. A whole lot of fun was had in this fun, laugh out loud romantic comedy.
How Hard Can It Be had a TON of hysterical moments with both fun and loyal people and one smoking HOT cop! Jack was into Rena from the moment he sees her at the one place she was NOT supposed to be and he was forced to arrest her, but boy-howdy he made Rena melt like a ice cream on a hot day! When these two get together, sparks fly and clothes are forgotten as they seem to be unable to keep their hands off each other.
The whole time I found myself laughing OUT LOUD..for real! I never heard so many different names for a males' anatomy before and I definitely learned some new ones. I was totally smitten with Jack and truly enjoyed Rena and her fun attics as she sets about trying to take down the evil author and save herself and her friends from such a vile creature. Her friends, the loyal porno-grannies, were a hoot to read about. They were just as loyal to Rena and were by far, the most fun grannies you can imagine.
I couldn't believe how much I enjoyed this book and I keep asking myself one question..what took me so long to pick this up? It was freaking FANTASTIC! For those that have read books by Darynda Jones, you MUST pick this up! You will laugh, sigh, shake your head in wonder, and demand a repeat from these hilarious characters. The chemistry between Jack and Rena is off the charts and will definitely have you needing a fan and laugh till you need an adult diaper. It is pure fun, no butts (just couldn't resist) about it. A FOUR AND A HALF STARS OUT OF FIVE is my rating for this incredible book, a total worthy read.

Review of Love Burned Deep by Nickie Nalley Seidler

This particular book was a bit difficult for me to review. I liked the description of the characters and the deep love that they seemed to have for each other, but I did think there was a bit too much drama for a novella. Would I say this book was bad? No. The style of writing was good and the characters interesting and sexy. I just think a little less drama would of done this book wonders.

BLURB:

Sometimes the past stays in the past, and other times it can follow you forever. All Rachel wanted was to live a life of happiness and have her husband all to herself. Cody had a rough start as a troubled kid addicted to drugs, but with a lot of help and support, he turned himself around and became a top notch firefighter who was head over heels in love with Rachel.
Not everyone was as lucky as Cody. Jealousy from a past love and fellow addict threatens to tear him and Rachel apart and send their happiness up in flames. Cody has no idea how to face this situation from his past and save his marriage.
Love, trust, and the hope of one day having a family together keep Rachel from walking away from Cody and his past and never looking back. Will her faith in her man and their love be enough to overcome evil, or will they forever be burned?

I really like Rachel and Cody. I thought there love for each other was very obvious. The sex was quite hot and the description of Cody had me practically drooling on my kindle. But Angie was a complication that just kept threatening their love. I did not really like how Cody didn't seem..really willing to help Angie even after years of her stalking him and Rachel. I only gave this book a Two and a half stars because of the constant drama Angie brought to the story. I felt like this story could of been better without Angie being in nearly every chapter especially since she caused more trouble whenever she popped up. It just seemed like whenever Rachel could forgive Cody for not taking care of the Angie problem sooner, she would show up and the drama would begin anew. Other then that, this story is pretty good with sexy characters and a fabulous cover.  I would recommend this book to those that enjoy a short story on a rainy day.

Review of Matter of Choice by R.M. Alexander

I was intrigued about this story after I made a post letting authors know that I was taking new books to review on my blog and I was messaged about reviewing this book, so I immediately went and checked out the book on Amazon and when I seen this very pretty cover I was even more curious about  it. But the blurb was what captivated me the most...

BLURB:

Some promises can’t be kept.

Shannon Winters’ picture perfect marriage is in shambles after a car accident left her husband an amnesiac. The commitment to vows he doesn’t remember making keeps her fighting while covering up the parade of other women and a spectacle of bad behavior. Her career as owner and manager at a successful boutique hotel alongside the Hudson River keeps is her refuge, but, at thirty-seven years old, what she craves is the bond to be repaired.

Even twenty years after high school, Triston Keyes continues to be haunted by the memories of the girl he’d lost, the only woman he’s ever loved. When he meets Shannon during a vacation, he finally has the chance to apologize. It’s the only hope he has if he ever wants to fall in love with anyone else.

Sparks rekindle between them, and Shannon struggles to find a reason to stay true to a broken marriage which is quickly crumbling as she gravitates towards the forgotten love.

Until her husband pleas for her to come back.

But when the depth of betrayal is revealed, Shannon must choose her vows-and her beloved hotel-or to remain true to her heart; while Triston must fight to keep the past from catching up to his future.

Both know nothing is a matter of luck, but a matter of choice ….

This is a contemporary romance that contained so much emotion, turmoil, passion, stress, and romance. I can't say there was a lot of sex, but honestly, I thought this story was even more perfect because of it. Shannon was a sweet and loyal wife to a man that ended up with "amnesia" for two years and since he couldn't remember her, he cheated on her..constantly. This is where the loyalty came in to play. It hurt her BADLY to see her husband, Greg act like a total different person then the one before the accident. She couldn't leave him because she loved him dearly. But then came her ex-boyfriend from high school, Triston who was everything to her and who broke her heart. They see each other and the sparks still remain and Triston sees his second chance to make Shannon his. He learns she is married to Greg a cheater and a fake. He opens her eyes to what Greg really is and when she decides that the pain is too much and tries to leave him, he comes out of his amnesia..along with his lies and then she sees the man he really is. Triston is there the whole time for moral support and to let her know he won't make the same mistake twice and will be there for her, especially as things start to get ugly with Greg and his true self. I liked that there was more romance and wooing without actual intercourse as Triston tries to win back Shannon because to me, it showed how much Triston took Shannon seriously and didn't just see a body to sate his desires but a woman that stole his heart way back in high school. Triston showered affection and did so many romantic gestures for Shannon not because he wanted sex, but because he wanted to show her the depth of his love. I gave this a Four out of Five stars. The story is compelling and drew me in from the get go and had me wanting to know what would happen. I totally think this book is worth a second read..along with a third and fourth. If you want a romance that doesn't just revolve around sex and has a lot of emotion behind it, then I highly suggest you pick up R.M. Alexander's Matter Of Choice. I do NOT think you will be disappointed. I wasn't.
