Lark shoots me a glare before asking, “What are you doing here?”

The venom in her voice is probably meant to scare me away but all I hear is come closer. I’m totally mesmerized.

“Hey, Sweetheart. I said you’d be seeing me soon. Figured I’d stop by and say hello in person.” I make sure to keep my tone calm but my skin inches with heat at the fire burning from her gaze.

“And I told you to leave me alone unless you’re ready to give me what I want.” She shifts her stare down to my groin while raising an expectant brow. “Is that what you’ve brought me?” She lifts her scorching eyes back to my face and seductively bites into her bottom lip.

Her sass is tantalizing but it’s the beauty underneath I’m truly after. “Sorry to disappoint you but that’s not why I’m here, Vix. I want to discuss some stuff, relating to us.”

“Vix? As in the vapor rub?”

An amused chuckle bounces up my throat. “Nah, short for Vixen.”

She seems to mull it over with a slight tilt of her head. “I suppose that's fitting, though you don’t need to be handing out nicknames. Tell me, what could we possibly have to talk about?”

“No idle chit-chat first? I’m hoping we can get to know each other. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you since the other night and this sexy librarian look you’re rocking is hot as hell, but it’s more than that. Are you willing to hear me out? Maybe make an exception for me?”

A frustrated sigh answers my question. “I don’t have the patience for this, Rowen. I’m very busy here and you’re wasting my time.”

I lean against the door, trying to show I’m not ready to leave quite yet. “Answer me this. Where did you work when you were younger? Let’s say seven years ago?”

Lark glances away before shuffling some papers into piles. Her fidgeting makes me smile because now I’m certain she remembers just fine. A barely-there blush blooms on her cheeks while she continues avoiding my question. I wait her out and soon enough she graces me with a response.

“I don’t see how that’s any of your business.” Her deflection causes me to edge forward a bit, as though we need to be closer. She speaks to the depths of my soul, no matter if she gives me sass or softness.

“I’m trying here, Vix. Want to help me out? Did you work at Brack’s Box during the summer of 2010? Maybe a guy stopped in on a random July afternoon and stumbled over his words in your stunning presence. Do you remember that?”

Lark is still avoiding eye contact but I hear her whispered yes as if she shouted it across the room.

Stretched t-shirt, dry blood and badass attitude looked good on him. That’s nothing compared to Harrison Everhart wearing a suit. His tall, broad, body wrapped in a dark gray is a site I want to photograph, frame and stare at it forever. He’s the type of man who behaves differently depending on the place and time. For the past five hours, we chatted pleasantly about our families. Nothing too superficial but nothing too intimate, either. If I had time to date, he’d be the kind of man I’d choose. Easy to talk to, funny, and a gentleman.
A refreshing touch from the guys who I hook up with when I have time to go out with my friends. Which lately it’s been never. Maybe I have time, but I don’t want to waste it by doing the same thing over and over again. Meeting a guy who has little social skills, only talks about himself, and by the end of the date is the only one who is satisfied isn’t great. I have my little friendly toys that to do a better job and I don’t have to listen to nonsense.
This would be a great subject for a sociology class; the interactions between humans, and how out of touch they are with one another that dating has become a joke. What happened to love letters? The chase is so much different now than it was back when my parents dated. I should quit the Bureau and go back to school. Finish my psychology degree, go into anthropology or sociology. I would enjoy doing that more than having to jump through hoops to show that I’m capable of more things than my superiors like to acknowledge. If anything, I can write a book with Mom’s letters and notes.
A manual on how it’s done.
“Everything okay?” Harrison asks when the service car stops, and the driver opens my door. “You’ve been quiet since we left the party.”
Define okay? My skin tingles every time you touch me. Your deep voice makes me shiver, and dancing in your arms was a bit torturous because everything inside me wanted you to touch more than my bare shoulders and my waist. But yeah, I’m cool.
“Your brother and Hazel never arrived at the party,” I comment, not disclosing that I’d like to find out how my fake future boyfriend kisses. “Gia wasn’t there either.”
 “I’m sorry about that. If you want, I can try to find out her whereabouts. My people can hack her phone and track her daily activities. He smirks and winks. “We can start stalking her.”
“Stalking?” I boom, laughing and covering my mouth when a couple walking close to us turns to glare at me.
“Yeah, that’s the word and you know what they say, ‘couples that stalk together stay together.’” He grins, his blue-crystal eyes shining with the post light.
That grin is addictive. I shouldn’t mind pretending to be with him while I’m working. A little fun on the side, some sexy times. Sex. I haven’t had that in a long time. So long that I can only remember what my toys can do for me. But I care. He’s a distraction. Each time he smirks, touches me or talks with the low-bedroom voice I want to jump him. That’s not only unprofessional but also illogical.

He clears his throat, looking around and poking the elevator. “We should do this again,” he says, leaning closer to me.
“Technically, we have to do it again.”

“Thank you,” I swallow hard, turning around and stepping into the elevator. “We can discuss our next move tomorrow.”
I poke the elevator, looking at the doors that start closing his gaze locks with mine.  His eyes darken, the intensity of that gaze makes me feel vulnerable, bare. I imagine my skin searing with the touch of his big hands. As the doors close, my phone rings. An incoming message. Unknown number reads the screen.

MY REVIEW:

A exciting, thrilling, action-packed, undercover romantic suspense with a sexy and confidant SEAL and a brave woman determined to find out why her sister was murdered. I have been getting more and more into Military Romantic Suspense and I am quickly finding out, Dale Mayer is right up there with Susan Stoker and Caitlyn O' Leary when it comes to a OUTSTANDING books! These Sleeper SEAL series is addicting as dark chocolate. They are riveting reads full of non-stop action, great suspense, and sexy romance. 

Michael's Mercy was full of excitement! I absolutely LOVED Michael. I found him to be drool worthy, caring, all alpha and Mercy was a worthy heroine. She was extremely brave, kind, and the way she was so determined to find out why her sister was murdered even with the danger to herself I just couldn't help but to admire. And there was definite sparks between Michael and Mercy right from the start. With each encounter they had together, the chemistry got more intense until it exploded with a fiery passionate explosion that left me breathless. And all while they find love, danger lurks along with some spine tingling action that kept me on my toes. I just LOVED this book! One of the best Sleeper SEAL stories I have read and it makes me more excited to read more.

Michael's Mercy gets a DISTRACTEDLY GOOD FIVE SHOOTING STARS! When a book can keep me on my toes it just makes me happy!

MY REVIEW:


Equal parts funny, sexy, and heartfelt Untamable made for a PERFECT Romantic Comedy! This is Jamie Schlosser's first Rom-Com and I think she NAILED IT! There were plenty of laugh out loud moments, all around sexy moments,  fabulous banter and a splendid storyline. I fell hard and fast for Emery and Estelle. These two were a perfect match from the moment they met and I adored their personalities. 

As a good Rom-Com goes, we know we need both humor and heart. And Untamable had both and it was WONDERFULLY mixed! The heart felt moments made me sniffle and sigh and the humor...OMG I giggled and laughed! Honestly, if I didn't know this was Miss Schlosser's first time writing a Rom-Com I would of NEVER guessed by reading this book. It was so...so...SOOOOOOO well written. I am IN LOVE with the way Miss Schlosser writes and I hope in the future she writes MANY more because I won't be getting enough anytime soon! This is like the best kind of crack and I am ADDICTED! 

Untamable gets a FEISTY AND FUN FIVE SHOOTING STARS! Its entertainment at its best and I can't be happier with it.

MY REVIEW:

Things get more intense in the fourth book in Lexi Blake and Shayla Black's newest Perfect Gentlemen book, Smoke and Sin! Another puzzle piece gets added from the secrets that are revealed and then another intricate and eye opening clue gets revealed all while the flame between Gus and Roman (which has been brewing for years) comes roaring back to life, hot and fast and definitely more sexy than you can imagine! 

The one thing I love most about this series is the amazing action and danger  with every new secret and piece to the puzzle of Mad's death that gets exposed. And the way Gus takes charge and wades through everything with bravery and takes no crap attitude had me rooting for her from the get go. Roman is stubborn, trying to keep his distance from the one woman who he has always loved and will do just about anything to protect had me wanting to wack him on the head yet had me softening toward him with every insane thing that came out of his mouth. But I could NOT deny the amazing, sizzling chemistry between him and Gus. Their hate-love relationship kept me on my toes and kept the sex scorching hot and lip-biting GOOD! Out of the other Perfect Gentlemen books, this one has to be my number 1 read! Not only can I feel that things will finally come to a glorious ending once the last book gets here, but I just LOVED how I could never figure out how Roman and Gus would be like together with every new chapter. These two had stubborn-ness in spades but the lust and obvious love they have for each other was too irresistible. 

Smoke And Sin is a thrilling, exciting, fast-paced, super sexy read that gets a RIVETING FIVE SHOOTING STARS!
