ARC Review - Dragon Temptation by Amelia Jade!

BLURB:

Major Elin Mara has one rule she’s always obeyed: No mixing business with pleasure. Although difficult at times, she has stood by it. Until now. Tasked with a new job that appears to be another attempt to drive her out of the military, her first order of business is to bring the tall, ripped stranger who claims to be able to breathe fire up to speed. Without breaking her own rule. Gulp.

Awakened from the long sleep into which he fled to escape his past, Kallore quickly finds that his “teacher” is more than just that. She’s the woman he’s been searching for. Suddenly his attempt to run away seems more like fate driving him into her deliciously curvy body. Now if only he can convince her that he’s not just another soldier, but something more.

The more time they spend together, the harder it becomes for Elin to resist the dragon’s temptation. He’s scorching hot and determined to say and do everything right to gain her trust. But the past can’t stay away, and when it rears its ugly head, they both lose sight of their true purpose. Can they focus on each other and the reason for Kallore’s awakening, or will they get caught up in ancient wrongs, blinded to the danger coming straight at them?

MY REVIEW:

A deliciously tempting, sexy as sin paranormal romance that burns hot and had me swooning, sighing, falling head over heels for our sexy dragon hero and the woman that brought him to his knees! This story was absolutely fantastic! Its my first Amelia Jade story and I was happy and thrilled with this story.

I am always looking for a good paranormal romance. They have been my go to genre for a long time. But in the last several months I have gotten heavy into dragon shifters. I use to be just wolf or bear shifters or even angel and demon type of girl. But lately I have been craving more and more dragon shifters, and Dragon Temptation was fun, smoking hot, with great characters and a perfect storyline. I loved how this story was set up and everything from the descriptions to the banter was top notch and piqued my interest. What a treat! I can't wait to read the next book in this series!

Dragon Temptation gets a SIZZLING FIVE SHOOTING STARS!

"Good Morning Malibu, it’s another beautiful day on the west coast! I'm Noely Clark, your host: and I'm in the market for love…”

When the publicity team of the new local restaurant, Going in Blind, began their search for a hot, local celebrity to promote the wildly popular eatery, they couldn’t have found a better person than me.

Outgoing? Check.
Single? Check.
Open to finding love? Check.

I signed up immediately.

A hopeless romantic with an exceedingly demanding schedule, I've found it impossible to find the man of my dreams—so Going in Blind seems too good to be true! That’s until they start setting me up on dates—three very different, very attractive, very distinct blind dates—and only one thing is for certain . . .

I’m in big trouble.

Good Morning Malibu,
I'm Noely Clark, and I have a choice to make.
The question is who will I choose; the suit, the rebel, or the jock.

EXCERPT:

“There is no way that’s what that line means.”

“It sure as hell does.”

“That’s ridiculous. What, did you study palm reading as well as Spanish?”

He chuckles and says, “I just know things. And that line right there means you’re allergic to coffee.”

I shake my head and laugh. “You’re such a liar.”

He strokes my palm with his finger, running it along every line, making my insides flutter and my breathing pick up with each stroke. He’s so close, his body practically on top of mine, his breath pressed against my ear, his scruff rubbing my skin ever so gently. And me, well, see my hips? Yeah, they’re slowly gyrating in his direction. I would like to blame the margarita, or even the music, but I know that’s not the case. It’s my libido skyrocketing into dangerous territories from the way this man lightly strokes me in just the right way.

“Not a liar, just telling you what I see.”

“Is that so?” I lean in closer and ask, “Then how come I have coffee every morning and I’m fine? Seems to me like you just wanted an excuse to touch me so you pretended to be a palm reader.”

I hold my breath, waiting for his answer.

“You’re right. I did. Now give me a chance to touch you even more.” He retreats from the booth and holds out his hand for me to follow.

I take it without even giving it a second thought. Smiling devilishly, he guides me to the dance floor and immediately spins me into his arms where he takes my hands and links them behind his neck. Pulling me into his body, he places his hands on my hips and presses his forehead against mine.

As if it’s second nature to him, he starts moving us back and forth along the dance floor, his feet effortlessly gliding us. Intimidated at first, after a few passes across the floor, I start to feel the music and my muscles begin to loosen up.

“That’s it,” he whispers just loud enough so I can hear him over the music. “Loosen those hips, Sassy.”

A distinct trumpet and cowbell echo through the room, setting the pace and tone to the dance. It’s fast, yet commanding, encouraging us to grind together, and that’s what Beck does. His hands slide from my hips to my butt where he grips tightly and pulls me flush against his crotch. With my legs entwined with his, we stay in place as our hips gyrate together.

Breathless and turned on, I match his gaze with mine, his seductive eyes penetrating any last wall I might have had before this date, and for once in a long time, I let loose . . . completely.

“Just like that. God, you look so sexy.”

Leaning my head back, I let my hair fall behind me and give it a little shake before lifting my head back up and meeting his lust-filled, greedy eyes. His hands grip my butt tighter and I’m greeted by a noticeable hard-on.

I did that to him, and if that isn’t a turn-on, I don’t know what is.

My fingers start to play with his hair, twisting and turning the short strands, causing his eyes to haze over. Is it weird I want more? That even though our pelvises are pressed against each other, I want to be closer?

The music now flowing through me, controlling my every movement, I glide my hands down to his shirt where my fingers dexterously undo two more of his buttons, exposing more of his tan skin, his necklace in full view now. It’s a medallion I can’t quite make out, but it doesn’t matter right now, because all I care about is the muscular expanse of chest in front of me.

I slip my fingers inside his shirt and dance them across his chest, feeling the sinew of muscles flex with every move we make together.

When one of my fingers accidentally caresses one of his nipples, he growls into my ear and turns me around in his arms, causing me to temporarily lose my breath, that’s until his hands find mine again, securing my butt right against his crotch. I sigh and loop my hand around me to the back of his neck, anchoring me in place while he swivels our hips together, his lips pressed against my ear.

“Fuck, you feel good against me,” he whispers. His breath sends chills up and down my entire body as the music continues to guide me.

I push my butt even harder against his erection, heavy and obvious, swiveling my hips, loving the way I can feel his excitement so easily. I love that I affect him like this.

I’ve never been with a man so comfortable in his own skin that he doesn’t care about how I affect him. It’s like he’s proud of it. Of us.

It’s extremely rewarding.

Feeling the music, we dance slowly in tandem, letting the beat guide us. Still hanging on to him, my other hand now on top of one of his, he starts to feel the length of my leg, his body bending just slightly to reach the hem of my dress. When he moves his hand under the fabric, my breath stills for a second before he pulls away and lifts his hand back up my body until both of his hands reach my ribcage.

Oh God.

His head peers over my shoulder, his eyes trained down the valley of my cleavage. “I told you this dress was going to get you into trouble tonight and the way you’re moving against me, my self-control is slipping, Sassy.”

Taking a deep breath, I move his hand farther up my body and say, “Then let your will slip.”

“Fuck,” he growls into my ear, letting his hand move to just below my breasts. I suck in a breath from the contact and wait for him to move a little higher, but he doesn’t. Instead, he swivels his hips with mine and moves his hands down my sides until they’re resting on my thighs, his thumbs closing in on the juncture between my legs.

The heat level between us rises to inferno in the matter of seconds and my skin starts to prickle with need, a yearning I haven’t felt since . . . well since Jack, but before that, since I can’t remember.

“I don’t know how much more dancing I can do with you,” he says into my ear. “I’m about to combust here.”

I turn in his arms and look straight at him. “Then let’s get out of here.”

The way the words fall off my tongue sound so foreign to me, but then again, there’s not a chance in hell I want to take them back.

MY REVIEW:

What a fantastic, emotional, thrilling paranormal romantic suspense that was as exciting as it was sexy! Desiree L. Scott is a new to me author but WOW..she has me so HOOKED on her stories! Bear's Shadow is intense and sexy, sweet, and action packed with outstanding characters and an incredible storyline. I am so in love and wildly impressed with this series and can't freaking wait to see what will be next!

Bear's Shadow starts out with some heart-racing scenes. OMG I was drawn to the story from the very first sentence and the more I read the more I found myself entranced. This is such a different breed of paranormal romance. Its full of cliff-hanging suspense and danger and some of the most incredibly sexy and ultra protective shifters that had me swooning. This Vendetta Series is to die for and I LOVE it!

A few of those influences consist of Karen Rose, Lisa Gardener, Nora Roberts, Cynthia Eden, Catherine Anderson, Laura Griffin, Andrea Kane, and Lisa Jackson, just to name a few. This list by no means defines my own writing but they have indeed influenced her desire to live outside of her own world and to create the thrill of her dreams.

Close-up portrait of the smart couple

Get a little taste of Carter and Sophia RIGHT NOW:
“Did you mean it when you said you would do anything to make this right between us?” His voice was a cross between a purr and a growl, it was seductive.
“I did.”
“Well, I know what it is, it’s what I need, what I’ve always needed.”
“What?” Goose bumps trailed along my arms, and a little tremor quivered in my voice.
“I need our one night. I need to know you in every way possible. I’ve needed it for ten years.”
I froze at his words, stopped swaying to the rhythm of the song, and took a step back. Holy fuck. That? Of all the things . . . that is what he asked for? Could I give him that and still walk away, let him be with other women? He deserved someone else. Carter Lang was a good man. He would make an amazing father and an even greater husband . . . for someone, not me.
“Sophia.”
I glanced up, meeting his eyes again at his use of my real name, no nickname.
“Princess, I need this, I want this. I’ve wanted you, dreamed of you for ten years.” He pulled me back in, holding me flush against him, and his thick hard shaft was rigid and pressing against me, proof that he definitely wanted me. “What do you want?”
That was a loaded question, what did I want? I wanted to be eighteen again and have a different life. I wanted a night with him. I wanted to be a wife, a mom, a lover . . . his lover.
“I want you, one night.” But how could I keep him from seeing? Curling my shoulders forward, I caught myself going into my natural protective mode. It’s what took the focus off my chest and put it more on the rest of my body. It was as close to a ball that I could make myself.
“Soph, look at me. Are you sure?”
I nodded. I could do one night. I walked away once, I could do it again, right?
He bent and lightly nibbled on my ear. “I have a room.”
My body uncurled and extended as shivers raced down my spine and every hair raised. I was on the verge of losing control. I had to remind myself of things that normally came naturally. Breathe in, breathe out, deep breaths. I kept telling myself that I could do this, I could so do this.
Carter’s soft tug on my hand had me following him out of the ballroom and to the bank of elevators. We walked in and the doors closed. Watching as he pressed number seven, then a second later, the doors slid open. The whole way up neither of us said anything, and I spent the time wondering just how horrible and stupid of a decision this was. He opened his hotel room door and held it while I walked under his arm. Before the door slammed shut, his hands were on my hips, and he turned me to face him. This was it, the moment of truth, the failsafe line.

The whole stethoscope-and-white coat thing isn’t my cup of tea. I prefer a man with an artistic vein in his body. 9 - 5 hours. And I can definitely do without the half-lidded, sleepy bedroom eyes. (Okay, so those are kind of sexy.) Tall, dark, and handsome doesn’t change the fact that he’s arrogant, cocky, and rude. Not that I care, but he’s made it clear he wants nothing to do with a quirky girl like me, which is why he said no. Turns out no isn’t an option. I have a quickie wedding to plan, and Dr. Jake Kissinger doesn’t have a choice. He looks at our situation like he’s stuck with me, but in reality I’m stuck with him. Stuck with his pouty mouth. His long, lean body. And stuck with those loose, low riding scrub pants. (Okay, so the doctor thing is growing on me.) When spending time together turns into more than it should, I know I’m in trouble. He isn’t supposed to make my heart pound. I’m not supposed to make him look twice. And we aren’t supposed to spend the night together. (Okay, so he has more than one artistic vein in his body, and other places.) Falling for him is definitely a mistake. Here’s the thing… Jake is unavailable, and I know it. Just not in the way you might think. I guess you can’t have your cake and eat it too.

EXCERPT:
THE THING ABOUT LOVE By Kim Karr Copyright 2017 If a barn could be magical, this one was definitely enchanting. I was in a daze as I looked around. The rafters. The tables. The river. They all seemed to sparkle with a light I wanted to capture. “Isn’t that right, sweetie?” The voice was deep and husky, but I was in my own world imaging what I could do with a place like this and not paying any attention. An elbow nudged me, and it wasn’t until then that I realized I was sweetie. Sweetie? Seriously, the man with the DR before his name couldn’t find something a little sexier in his vocabulary to call me? Sugarcakes. Honeypie. Cookie, even. “What’s that Chocolate Cake?” I smiled big and wide when I said it. Obviously, he was giving this little show all he had, so I figured I might as well, too. Ignoring my taunt, Jake draped an arm around my chair just as Shania Twain’s “Any Man of Mine” came bellowing through the speakers. When his fingertips brushed my shoulder, I wasn’t listening to the beat of the music though because butterflies took flight in my belly, and lower. I had to remind myself that this was part of the show, but still, I found myself having to squeeze my thighs together to sooth the ache his touch had ignited. “I was just telling George how much you love to dance. Especially square dance,” he said. I had been reaching for my water, and I practically spilled it when he said that. Was he out of his ever-loving mind? I didn’t know a thing about country dancing other than the fact that the word do-si-do had something to do with it. I tucked a piece of hair behind my ear. “Yes, big boy, I do like to dance, but you know I prefer to watch you line dance because you’re so great at it. Besides, don’t forget, I did hurt my ankle not that long ago.” His grin was beyond wicked. “You can be a klutz sometimes, but I seem to recall you assuring me your ankle was absolutely fine, and after I checked it out, I did concur with your self-diagnosis.” Ethel tapped George on the shoulder, and when he looked at her, she whispered something in his ear. “Did you say you wanted to dance, Jules?” George asked me over the music. Before I could say no, George was on his feet and standing beside me with his hand extended. “Would you do me the honor of having this dance with me?” Like I could say no now. He really was so sweet. Dr. Kiss, on the other hand, well he was the devil reincarnated. “I’d be delighted,” I said and glared at Jake as I stood. “Have fun, Sweetie,” Jake grinned. I bent to whisper in his ear. “While I’m gone, do you think you could come up with something to call me that doesn’t make you sound like you might be George’s age.” He narrowed that blue-eyed stare at me. Satisfied with that, I pivoted around and didn’t look back. The bridesmaids, in their short, peach dresses and cowboy boots, were having a blast stomping their feet and clapping their hands all while shaking their behinds and pressing their thumbs into their sides. How on earth were George and I going to dance to this? Thank God just when we reached the center of the dance floor, the music changed, and Tim McGraw’s voice came overhead. As Tim sang about how no one ever made him feel the way she did, George and I stepped into position. He took my hands and started to move, ballroom style. This type of dancing I knew how to do. “So,” he said, “When are you and Jake planning on getting hitched?” Up until now, I had been able to twist what I said so it didn’t sound like a blatant lie, but this question was pretty straightforward. “We haven’t decided yet.” Which was true. In fact, we hadn’t decided a lot. Like as a starting point, if we were friends or enemies. “I noticed you ain’t wearing a ring. He not gotten you one yet?” “That’s complicated,” I answered. And it was. He hadn’t gotten me one and he never would because he didn’t even like me, and after tonight, I was fairly certain he wouldn’t be able to stand me. “Well, he’s a good man. Give him some time. He’ll come around.” Yes, he’d come around all right. Come around to telling me I was fired, which reminded me of Finn. Where had he gotten his information? I leaned back. “Is Labor Day weekend available for a wedding?” George started to laugh. “You’ll give the man a heart attack if you make him move that fast.” “Oh, I know, but just in case, is it?” “As a matter of fact, it might be. A lad called here today inquiring about it though, and I told him to come up and see the place before I reserved it for him. Since he ain’t shown, I reckon it could be yours.” “Good to know.” I winked. He raised a curious brow. I shrugged. “Just in case.” Yes, just in case I decided to come clean. And just in case I could figure out how this place was suitable for Rory. But even as I thought it, I knew it wasn’t. I nearly missed a step when I caught a glimpse of Jake leaning against the wall, watching us. He threw me off, and I had to order myself to tune back into George for the remainder of the dance. My lack of focus had to cease right now because the bottom line was that at the moment I couldn’t allow myself to be thrown off course. When the music ended, I stepped back and curtsied. “Thanks for indulging me.” George gave my hand a squeeze. “You and the Doc are really quite a couple.” “Thank you,” I told him, but I knew I should have been correcting him instead. I hated the lie, but I couldn’t undo it now, nor could I stop what he was doing. George had signaled Jake over, and he had started to move. All tall, dark, and handsome, he strutted my way with a cat that ate the canary grin on his face. I wanted to wipe it away—with my lips. No, I didn’t mean that. “It’s your turn,” George told him. “Oh, but he only likes to line dance,” I said. George laughed like it was a joke and strode toward his Ethel, who had started clearing the buffet table. “May I?” Jake asked, all debonair-like. “I don’t know, may you?” He shook his head. “Just give me your hands, will you? I’d hate to ruin George and Ethel’s night by admitting this was all a ruse.” “Grrr…You are so frustrating,” I said offering my hands. He laced his fingers in mine and drew me close. “Did you just growl?” With a frown, I placed my hands on his shoulders. “I did no such thing.” His hands fit my waist like they were made for me. “Yes, you did. And smile, they’re looking at us.” Forcing myself to keep the corners of my mouth tilted upwards was very difficult because I could barely breathe when he slid his thigh between mine. The crowd surged around us, and just like that, I forgot this wasn’t real. We were aligned thigh-to-thigh, belly-to-belly. If I turned my head, our mouths would be close enough to kiss. Silly thought. We moved together, and when my hands slid from his shoulder to cup the back of his neck, the edges of his soft brown hair tickled my knuckles. The heat of his skin was almost too much, as was the feel of his body so close to mine. When his fingers splayed against my back and lingered there, I could have sworn the music thumped in the pit of my stomach, my wrists, and especially between my thighs “What are you doing?” I asked. He moved closer to me. “I believe it’s called dancing.” “Are you still acting? Because if you are, George and Ethel are no longer watching us.” I whispered this in his ear. “Does it matter?” he answered back, and when he did his breath caressed my ear. “Do you want it to?” He pulled back to look into my eyes, his smile less bemused and his gaze bright. “Do you always answer a question with a question?” “Only when…I’m talking to you.” My hesitation sounded coy, but I hadn’t meant it to. Scared of something, but no idea what of, I said, “This place isn’t that bad. It just needs some more sparkle.” “Sparkle?” “Yes, like crystal chandeliers hanging from the beams.” He chuckled. “I don’t think crystal chandeliers are George and Ethel’s style.” “No,” I said. “We should probably go. You were right to begin with, this place isn’t appropriate for your sister’s wedding.” All of a sudden, the music ended, and before I could say another word, I was being pushed into a very grabby crowd of women. Oh, no! The bouquet toss. I had to get out of here. I bent down and crawled around, through, and practically under, a number of jumping cowboy boots. “One.” “Two.” “Three.” Rushing out of the side of the crowd, I stood up, and I could hardly believe it when the bouquet landed at my feet. Without thinking, I picked it up to throw it back into the crowd, but it was too late. “Oh Jules, you caught it.” It was Ethel, and she was escorting me to the front of the room. When I saw George leading Jake there as well, I wanted to end this charade. It was too much to handle. Having him so close was too much to handle. He was too much to handle. George and Ethel pushed us both together, and all of the girls started chanting, “Seal the deal. Seal the deal.” “What are they talking about?” Jake muttered. “Kiss her, Doc,” George clarified for me, and before either of us could step away from each other, George and Ethel were once again pushing us together. I landed against Jake’s hard chest. My mouth flew open in surprise, and a small sigh escaped. My lips were so close to his. Tantalizingly close. I wanted to close the distance so very much. He was breathing heavy, and I could see the muscle twitch at his temple, witness how tight his jaw was. Everything about him screamed he was holding himself back. We were both losing that battle though. Whether out of obligation, pressure, or need, his mouth came crashing down over mine, in the hardest, heated, and most demanding way. Oh, God, I wanted this. Wanted him. Especially when his tongue pushed inward, hot and sensual. It glided over mine as he licked at the roof of my mouth and swirled around my tongue in the most erotic dance. His lips were so soft. His mouth so hot. His possession unlike any I’d ever experienced. I could hear the catcalls, but ignored them all because he wasn’t simply kissing me, he wasn’t just sealing the deal, he was devouring me. In that moment, any other man I’d ever kissed faded away. No one had ever kissed me this way.

Hard Landing Release with ARC Review!

Becky McGraw
Hard Landing
Deep Six Security Book 6
Release Date Dec. 26, 2017

When Maddie Carter comes back from the grave, will Hawk have a fresh start with the one who got away? Deep Six pilot, former Army Nightstalker, Rhett Hawkins, knew the day would come, but he had hoped it wouldn't be until after he was gone. Maddie Carter was destined to die young, because that is just how she lived. She flew by the seat of her pants and flying as all she cared about. He'd learned that the hard way, when he asked her to marry him and she shot him down. But after her memorial service, Hawk just couldn't get past the feeling that something was wrong with the recounting of the events that led to the crash and her supposed death. Neither the helo or her body had been found. It drove him insane until he decided to do some investigation of his own. After getting conflicting stories from two surviving special operators, he knew he had to go the full distance to settle his mind. Once in Central America, Hawk realizes there is much more going on than the Army knows. Not only is the now blacked-out military helicopter back in service, Maddie is behind the stick making drug runs for a brutal cartel. When he has to convince her she needs to be rescued, Hawk sees she is not the same. Captain Maddie Carter is scarred, hardened and has no memory of him or her former life at all. Back home, when her memory starts to return and secrets are revealed, could it mean he'd only rescued her to lose her again? Would those secrets change his own life forever too?

REVIEW:

AN EXCITING, SMOKING HOT, FANTASTIC READ THAT HAD ME ON THE EDGE AND BEGGING FOR MORE!  We dive into a story here about a strong, military woman who is captured and tortured and who endures fears unlike any other, yet with a hero like Hawk, he makes it so Maddie can fight back. This story had me in tears and had my heart shattered, yet miraculously, in true Becky McGraw fashion, I found my heart slowly mending. This story will leave you with scars and leave your emotions in turmoil but it probably is also one of the most incredibly written stories...especially a military one. It is descriptive and a bit dark but so, SO good!

The ride you take on this one from Miss McGraw will change you. It was so intense and full of action and scary situations and the stuff poor Maddie goes through...WOW! You won't forget this book anytime soon. Through so much terrible stuff, somehow, a love that is unbreakable comes to shinning through  and leave you with a sense of wonder and hope. I am SO impressed with Hard Landing!

Hard Landing gets a UTTERLY FANTASTIC FIVE SHOOTING STARS!

Title: Lip Service (Kiss Talent Agents #1)
Age Group: Adult
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: December 26, 2017

Book Description:

Closing the deal means winning her heart.
Dani

I just wanted to tell Hunter Kiss where he could shove the fancy phone he gave my little brother as an obvious bribe. I’m sorry/not sorry I hit him in the nose with it, but sports agents who come sniffing around with dollar signs in their eyes have to get through me.

But now I’m pinned between the wall and Hunter’s naked body, and I’m the one sniffing his unbelievably hot, freshly showered skin…and trying to remember I’m a strong woman who stands on her own two feet, not one of his peanut-butter-legged conquests.

Hunter

I make college football players into stars without having to bribe them, and I’m pissed Dani Cross thinks otherwise. But anger isn’t all she makes me feel. The pink-haired, pierced tattoo artist is so hot she makes me want to forget my own rule: one night per woman, no exceptions.

Only she doesn’t trust me as far as she can throw me. (And trust me, that woman has an arm.) She’s been hurt, and it’ll take more than smooth talking to make her forget the pain. But for the first time in my life, I’m ready to lay it all on the table—even if closing the deal means offering my heart.
