Berserker's Rage (SmokeJumpers Book2) by Elle Boon ARC Review!

Hal Aldridge has always hidden his other half, but when he saves a woman beaten beyond recognition, he embraces his inner berserker. She calls to his soul more than any other.

Hospitalized for months, Felicity Evans holds onto the only thing that seems real. The voice of the man who kept her sane through the darkness.

Finally coming together, the couple realize the love that could be found in each other’s arms. Their passion flares brighter than the California sun, and there is no turning back. However danger once again finds Felicity, and Hal and his team of supernatural beings will do anything to bring her home safe.

Elle Boon did it again with another award winning story, Berserker's Rage! This is the second book in her SmokeJumpers series, and so far, my favorite one. I freaking ADORED Hal! In fact, if I could have one, I would want my very own beserker. Hal is like a gorgeous viking with his big strong body, and gorgeous eyes and blond hair. He hides the soul of a berserker inside him and it comes out when he is angry or someone is threatening him or someone he loves. Who wouldn't want a gorgeous viking warrior as a protector and lover? I know I definitely want one, that's for sure! *Wink* Now Felicity is a beauty. Not your supermodel beauty, but a soul deep beauty with a kind heart and gentle soul. When these two meet, after Hal rescues her from some assailants who beat her up almost beyond recognition, there is a connection there that keeps him from forgetting her and when she is healed, he goes in search of her to see how she is doing. When he finds her both him and Felicity's passion flares hot and soon neither one can be without the other.

This story went beyond my imaginings. I loved Hal and Felicity and thought their love story was crackling and sensual and so damn sweet! I was engulfed with the story and as the story progressed, we got to see almost the whole SmokeJumpers team in action as they do a rescue mission to save Felicity from someone who is crazy and dangerous. I was biting my lip throughout the story and dying to know what happened next between Felicity and Hal.  I also loved seeing the SmokeJumpers in action too! These guys have me completely fascinated and I am looking forward to each and every one of their stories.

If you like a breathtaking story full of enhanced people who may not be quite human, and love action-packed and sensual romance, then pick up Berserker's Rage by Elle Boon. Boon's stories are always great and have everything a reader could want. I gave this an OUTSTANDING FIVE SHOOTING STARS! The characters are awesome and the plot will easily keep you entertained. A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED READ!

Healed (The Found book 3) by Caitlyn O' Leary ARC Review!

Dr. Sarah Johnson has been gifted with the power of healing, and when she rushes to help a friend in need she gets more than she bargained for, and all hell breaks loose.

After finding himself tangled up with the most stubborn woman in the world, Navy team leader Nate Goodman knew his life was never going to be the same. Sarah Johnson was trouble with a capital T, and he never expected to fall for her.

What happens when the healer becomes aware that she is the one who needs to be healed? When Sarah goes missing, Nate will move heaven and Earth to find her. Will Nate reach her in time to heal her wounded soul?

If your looking for a book that will have you engulfed in the story and characters and that have plenty of action, suspense, and sizzling romance, Then Healed will definitely be your cup of tea! The moment I opened up this book, I was immersed in Nate's and Sarah's story. I have really enjoyed the first two books in O' Leary's Found Series. But for some reason, I loved Healed even more than I did with Revealed and Forsaken.

I was enthralled by Sarah's commitment to help and heal those that need it. Even when it puts her health at risk as well as her safety. Nate has a connection to Sarah that blew his mind and whenever she gets ill do to the after effects of her healing, he does WHATEVER it takes to help her through it no matter what is going on around him. His feeling for her are strong and awing. I melted every time Sarah and Nate made love and especially whenever he called her angel. Its sweet and just so damn sigh worthy. I was also in love with all the suspense and danger going on around them as they try to do rescue missions and find time for each other. The strength that not only Nate and Sarah have, but the whole team of Nate's is just astounding and amazing. They stick together  and when one of them gets into trouble, they all are there to pull them out, no matter what it takes.

This story was nail-biting and so damn addicting. I couldn't put this story down and ended up staying up late just to find out what happened next. The heat from Nate and Sarah is so HOT that its like being in a sauna! I can't get enough of this series, and that is exactly why I give a FULL FIVE SHOOTING STARS for Healed by Caitlyn O' Leary.

Hunter Of Her Heart by Kaylie Newell (Netgalley) eARC Review!

Bad boy Zane Wolfe has always been wild and reckless. Even though he’s hot for his high school sweetheart, Candi Brooks, settling down has never been in his plans. Beyond that, he’s changing in strange ways—and begins to wonder if there's truth to the local folklore that claims his family is cursed to be werewolves...

There's never been a time when waitress Candi didn't have a serious weakness for Zane and his intense, dark sex appeal. She craves him. But after her life changes dramatically, and Zane won’t commit, Candi’s reached her limit. She can't wait forever...so she's taking her heart off the table before it gets good and broken.

Something mysterious is going on in Wolfe Creek, and danger stalks Candi. Zane will do anything he can to protect her. But the one person she needs protection from might just be him…

*I got a free copy of this book through Netgalley. This does NOT have any reflect on my rating or review*

Hunter of Her Heart was a passionate, edgy paranormal delight! Bad boys and a sensual woman who changes them for the good, what can be more appealing than that? This had such a great storyline. It was mouthwatering, dramatic, and flared beautifully. The passion between Zane and Candi was impossible to miss. It sparked and sizzled and left the readers feeling pissed off at times with Zane, and supremely jealous of Candi for having such a protective and caring man like Zane at other times.

I gave Hunter of Her Heart a FOUR SHOOTING STARS! I loved the author's writing. Newell created a story that was juicy and incredibly imaginative. I absolutely LOVED the shifter elements. I am looking forward to seeing where else Newell takes us readers.

Omega's Heart (Black Hills Wolves 21) by TL Reeve ARC Review!

When the wolf is away…

Five years ago, Max Reaper walked out of Kole Silver’s life forever, leaving behind a broken omega.

Kole doesn’t believe in love anymore. He keeps to himself, leading a solitary life until stumbling upon an injured human, Jasper Hill. An instant attraction explodes between them, becoming an unbreakable bond. There is no choice—Kole must claim the man as his own.

When Max returns to take possession of what is rightfully his, a situation he’d never imagined greets him. Angry with himself and with his mate’s betrayal, he wrestles his wolf who demands he take action—to claim his mate. But will he be able to accept Kole’s new human companion, or will his mistake of leaving five years ago end up biting him in the ass?

Omega's Heart, the 21st book in the Black Hills Wolves series, is some seriously sexy and yet, surprisingly sweet romance. This is a steamy m/m/m story that is heart-wrenching and beyond HOT at the same time. We get three good looking men making love, and just generally being sweet on one another as they travel this road of love together. We get some drama due to the fact Max walked out of Kole's life, but when he returns, he has to decide how to handle Kole and his new found mate. There is some struggle at first, but it doesn't take him, or his other two mates, to come together and love one another as they should.

I loved all three of these characters. They each had something good to bring into their relationship that was essential and unique. I loved the danger, and the plot as well as the writing for Omega's Heart. TL Reeve weaves a sensual, dangerous and intriguing tale that will leave readers charged and squirming. I don't read a lot of m/m/m romances but thanks to Reeve, I may be checking out more books like this in the future.

I give this a STUNNING FOUR AND A HALF SHOOTING STARS! I can't complain about anything with Omega's Heart and I am happy with the story and the outcome.

Some men just can’t accept that a woman can be perfectly content without them. I mean, come on; a girl can get laid anytime she wants, it’s not like it’s hard. And lord knows, I have no interest in a relationship, there is no time for that drama-filled nonsense. Pursuing my passion in life is all that I have time for. Selfish and short sighted? Perhaps, but I know what I want out of life and have no problem going after it. Life is a string of decisions, constructed and manifested by us. I own mine and don’t apologize for it either.

Defined by my past, I hadn’t ever considered love as an option for someone like me. That is, until I spotted that sweet little brunette from across the crowded room. It was magnetic, and as much as she tried to resist, I was going to have her. Come heaven or high water, she would be mine.

Nightwalker by Jacquelyn Frank (Netgalley) eARC Review!

From New York Times bestselling author Jacquelyn Frank comes the final chapter in the Nightwalkers saga! As the momentous showdown with a powerful demon unfolds, a passionate encounter breaks the ultimate taboo.

Kamen is a Bodywalker, an ancient soul reborn in one human host after another. He’s also a prisoner of his own kind: for it was Kamen who released Apep, the deadly god who threatens the existence of their world. To atone for this grievous error, Kamen accepts an urgent mission: to convince the other nations of the Nightwalkers to set aside their centuries-old conflicts and band together. If he fails, all will be lost. And no tribe presents a greater challenge than the Wraiths, the spectral beings who are feared and despised for their lethal deathtouch.

Kamen makes first contact with a stunning, ghostly pale beauty named Geneviève. Part Wraith and part human, scorned as a half-breed, Viève shares the hunger for redemption—and for connection. Her scintillating touch holds the kiss of death, and yet it makes Kamen feel more alive than ever. Soon his lips are pressed against hers, sending Viève into fits of desire and forging a bond that breaches the divide between them. Now they must unite all the Nightwalkers, from Vampire and Shadowdweller to Djynns, and fast—for Apep is ready for war.

*This is a Netgalley eARC Review*

I have to say I enjoy this mysterious world of the Nightwalkers. I love how we dig deep and the story almost has a mythological feel to it. It has a dark feel with just hints of lightness to it. Both male and female characters are well developed and each are unique in there own way.

The one thing I think there was....a lot of was information. As the author tries to play back what new readers should know about the Nightwalkers, it had almost a repetitiveness that was a bit much at times and took  away from the main story. However, I understand why the author did this and I accepted it for the most part. Once we get past all the repeat info, the story was good and was easy to like. I like the author's unique way of writing and thought it was spaced nicely, so it didn't end to quickly or felt like it was missing pieces.

Miss Frank's World of the Nightwalkers is breathtaking and mysterious and imaginative. It has a compelling plot and wonderful characters.  Miss Frank's Nightwalker world is thrilling and action packed with the spicy romance we romance lovers crave! I give this a FOUR SHOOTING STARS!

Praise for SCORCHED: “Armentrout’s latest new adult offering tackles substance abuse and mental illness — and, thankfully, the love of a good man is not going to be what heals this heroine.” – RT Book Reviews

Portrait of a pretty teenage girl with redhaircovering her face with her hands

              Aw, shit.
I watched Andrea walk into the living room, the normal twitch of her hips absent. No one swayed ass like Andrea, and seeing it gone from her step was answer enough. Our normal whatever-the-fuck-it-was between us had gone further than I intended. No doubt what I’d said had cut her, but shit, it was no different than any other day.
My hand tightened on the neck of the bottle. For the life of me, I had no idea what the hell Andrea Walters’s problem was. Honestly. No fucking clue. One minute, sweet and sugary words parted those pouty pink lips of hers. Next second, she was a fire-breathing dragon from hell—a hot, fire-breathing dragon, but still. Her moods flipped more quickly than cups did during a game of flip cup.
Maybe it was because she was a redhead?
              I smirked.
She’d always been this way with me, and the most fucked-up think about it, there was a part of me that actually looked forward to whatever was going to come out of her mouth. Twisted as fuck. It was like a game between us, to see who could hit the hardest without lifting a finger. If nothing else, it was damn entertaining—or at least, it had been until now. Now, I wasn’t too sure about it.
Those pretty doe eyes of hers had looked suspiciously damp right before she’d looked away, and yeah…that didn’t sit right with me.
Kyler shot me a look as he walked past me and grabbed a beer out of the fridge, but I watched Andrea sit on the edge of the couch, her posture unnaturally rigid.
Sydney leaned against the arm. “We’re thinking about leaving early in the morning, around six.”
My gaze flicked to Andrea, expecting her to make some kind of crack about not getting up that early, but she was abnormally quiet. My spine stiffened.
“That should put us at the cabin between nine and ten in the morning, depending on traffic.” Kyler stood beside me as he screwed off the cap. “Then we’ll be heading back the following Monday.”
“Sounds good to me.” I didn’t take my eyes off Andrea as she fiddled with a strap on her sandals, slipping them onto her feet.
Sydney glanced at me, smiling softly. “You’re definitely off from the fire department?”
I nodded. Kyler had mentioned weeks ago about wanting to hit up the cabin before everyone headed back to class, and I’d requested the time off then. Which had meant I’d pulled a lot of doubles, but I hadn’t minded it. Wasn’t too different from the twelve-hour shifts we worked in the first place, and I’d only be there until February of next year, and then I was off to the academy. Not that I was in any hurry to leave the fire department, but being a cop was in my blood. Except I wanted to be a good cop. I’d probably still volunteer at the fire hall once I knew what kind of schedule I was looking at on the force.
“It makes sense if we drive up together.” Sydney toyed with a strand of her hair. “Kyler and I can pick you two up.”
Andrea had twisted toward Sydney and started to protest the whole idea of taking one car. I zoned out, staring at her as the bottle of beer dangled from the tips of my fingers.
Damn…she was a cute girl. Nah, she was more than cute, and it wasn’t like this was the first time I’d noticed that. From the first time I’d seen her at the bar with Sydney, she’d done more than just poke my interest. Hell, anyone with eyes knew she was a very pretty girl. Lush lips. Freckled cheeks and thick, dark eyelashes. Come to think of it, she reminded me of a girl I’d had a crush on in middle school. Hell, couldn’t remember that chick’s name, but she’d had freckles and red hair. I think I used to pull on her braids or some annoying shit like that. My lips tipped up in a small grin as I lifted the bottle to my mouth. Andrea was a motherfucking firecracker, though, not the kind of girl who was easily tamed.
Hell, not the kind of girl you even wanted to tame.

And don’t miss the first standalone book in the series…

A Reaper Made Review Blitz!

Grace had finally gotten used to her new afterlife as a “Made” – a Reaper who used to be human. When Made Reapers and souls begin disappearing, however, Grace and her mentor Tully suspect demons. Grace’s worst fears are confirmed when her living family is threatened.

She’ll have to break every rule in the Reaper book to save them, including using a little magic to become temporarily human. With the help of Tully and her witchy friend Tessa, Grace goes undercover to save the fates of kidnapped souls – only to discover that demons aren’t working alone. Betrayal and distrust runs deep and Grace discovers that sometimes even Reapers are prone to humanity.

This isn't the type of book I usually read, yet surprisingly enough I did like it. There is a lot of suspense, action, danger, and all sorts of paranormal activity going on in A Reaper Made that was both exhilarating and exciting.

Grace is a really great character: strong, passionate, and totally kick-ass. When she becomes a Reaper, she does everything she can to save kidnapped souls and to do whats right. I really did like it. It didn't have much romance in it, but yet it was so action-packed, it was hard not to fall into the book.

Liz Long's style of writing was awesome! I loved the plot and the cover was so pretty! The synopsis fits the book and definitely gives us readers a good look on what was going down, even before starting it. I gave a stunning FOUR SHOOTING STARS to A Reaper Made. I am looking forward to seeing where this will lead next from Miss Long.

Shakedown by Michelle Roth ARC Review!

Private Detective Mike Diamond is the low man on the totem pole. More often than not he finds himself investigating insurance fraud or cheating spouses. When he's assigned a dog-napping case, he is on the brink of refusing until he meets the client. One look at her changes everything.

When the police refuse to investigate her case, Cassidy Werner turns to Diamond and Diamond Private Investigators. Despite the bad first impression he's given her, Cassidy still hires Mike to help her find her prize Tibetan Mastiff. As she gets to know him, she realizes that he's not only dedicated to getting Roddy back for her, but also a pretty great guy.

Right after she receives a ransom demand, things begin to heat up between them. Will Mike be able to crack the case and save her dog? And if he can, does that mean that he gets the girl too?

When I first got a glimpse of this book by Michelle Roth, I knew right away that I wanted to read it. I really like the theme: a Private Detective agency, Diamond and Diamond Private Investigators, who will help those that the cops refuse or won't do anything for. Shakedown is about one of those investigators, Mike Diamond who got a case for a kidnapped dog. When he meets the owner, sexy Cassidy, he feels instant attraction to her and soon starts to feel more for her as they look into who kidnapped her dog. I found at times, that the tension between Mike and Cassidy to be almost sizzling and crackling as they race to save her cherished Tibetan Mastiff.

The one thing I wish there was more of was suspense. I felt like things happened a bit too quickly and then kind of slowed down. I think if things were stretched out a bit more when it came to finding the dog and the rescue, I think this could of made things a lot better with the story. I did like the characters and the general plot, but if there was a bit more to the story, this book would of been absolutely perfect.

Even though I wouldn't rate this a Five Stars, I definitely think it deserved a THREE AND A HALF SHOOTING STARS! With a bit more suspense to go with the romance in future books, I think this series could easily take off and become a huge hit! For a first book in Michelle Roth's new series, it was pretty good and worth reading. I love the idea for this new series and even though I gave it a THREE AND A HALF STARS, I still liked it and am curious to see what will happen in future books and I know Michelle Roth will only get better with each new one.
