ARC Review - The Effing List (Masters of the Shadowlands #14) by Cherise Sinclair!

The Effing List (Masters of the Shadowlands, #14)

Let’s liven up our marriage. It’ll be fun.
Then her husband brought two slaves into the house. That was the end of that. Divorce achieved, Valerie is working on her goals. Friends: has a new one. Fitness: little muscles! Finances: in the black.

Friskiness? Total. Effing. Fail.
So she attends the notorious Shadowlands club’s open house. There, a sadistic Dom—a fellow professor--teaches her that she loves pain with her pleasure. He wants to show her more.

Despite the razor edges of his hard face and the authority in his every word, he’s careful and caring. He listens, and how tempting is that?

But she knows better. Her heart is off limits.

Retired Special Forces colonel, Ghost has been a widower for long enough.
Although he’s ready to love again, the generous, caring woman he desires has scars from her past. However, he has hard-won skills, enough to show Valerie there can be a new F on her list—fulfillment. Life looks good.

Until his past surfaces, shattering his new life and the love he’d hoped to win.

The very moment I started reading I forgot where I was, who I was and even to breath! The Effing List was THAT exhilarating!

I love reading about the Shadowlands masters and mistresses and their very playful and honest subs! And in The Effing List we get to read about Ghost, a sexy, caring and protective sadist and his equally as caring and kind and amazing sub Valerie. I never thought there would be a day where I would enjoy and want MORE of sadists and masochists but my goodness, after reading Linda and Sam's story a few years back and now Ghost and Valerie's story, I can honestly say reading about a sexy sadist and how they take care of their subs in play and outside of play turned me into mush and had me craving so much more. Now Ghost was a pretty unforgettable hero. He is oh so sexy, charming, and he pays oh so good attention to every nuance and detail of Valerie during play. I loved his sadistic side and found myself quite enraptured over his techniques as a sadist and a professor. And Valerie was like a ray of sunshine. She was beautiful, kind and cared about everyone around her. She oozed peace. Her submission was equally as breathtaking and I found her desire to explore pain to be pretty fascinating. And the scenes between Ghost and her was enticing, hot as hell and extremely satisfying.

And I feel we got a bonus in this book with another couple too. Which made me soooooo happy. I won't say who the other couple is because I want you all to read this and find out and be just as happy with it as I was. More than the sexy play and hot sex, this book held so much heart and compassion. I really felt like I finally understood what the Shadowlands means. This is more than a community. Being part of the Shadowlands is being with family. Its so beautiful and amazing and really melted my heart and had me yearning to join the club! I HIGHLY recommend. LIKE TOP OF MY LIST RECOMMEND!

The Effing List gets a FIVE TEASING AND BREATHTAKING STARS! This is officially my new favorite Shadowlands story!

ARC Review No Escape From War (Trouble For Hire #1) by Cynthia Eden!

No Escape From War (Trouble For Hire Book 1)

Revenge. Oh, it was going to be sweet.

Warren “War” Channing finally has the chance to nail his beautiful, lying ex. And, no, he doesn’t mean “nail” in the down and dirty sexual way…War means he has the opportunity to send the lovely and infuriating Rose Shadow to jail. Turned out, the woman who had shattered his heart beneath her high heeled shoes was wanted for murder. She was on the run, and he was just the man to hunt her down and toss her into the nearest cell…War could hardly wait.

He was the last man she expected to need.

The breakup had been ugly. Painful. It had ripped out her heart and left her in a sad, crying heap as she ate her ice cream, but Rose had moved the hell on, and she had sworn to never, ever need War again. Except, well, now she did need him and his sneaky skills because Rose was in trouble up to her eyes. The kind of trouble that could wreck a woman’s life.

He’ll make her pay.

Rose has cracked the story of a lifetime. She’s uncovered a brutal serial killer who has been hiding in the shadows—only now, she is his next target. The cops think she’s involved in the string of murders because maybe her DNA had been at a crime scene and maybe she’d been spotted by witnesses at another location, but Rose is a reporter—she’d been at the scenes because she was tracking down the real killer. Now, though, because War has caught her, Rose is out of time and options. War is former special ops. He’s the best PI in town. And he’s the man who gave her more pleasure than should be legal…Too bad that he’s also the man who hates her the most.

Forty-eight hours…then jail.

They make a grudging deal—she’ll pay him anything he wants if he just gives her forty-eight hours before he turns her over to the cops. During that forty-eight hours, he will help her track the real killer. When the clock runs down, she’ll be out of his life for good. Except…a whole lot can change for two people in forty-eight hours. Hate can turn into desire. Need can rage out of control. And a love that you thought was long dead? It just might flash to life again.

Provided, of course, that the murderer hunting Rose doesn’t manage to kill her before she and War can catch him. Forty-eight hours. The countdown starts now…

Author’s note: The “Trouble For Hire” romance series features hot, former military heroes…and these guys truly are the best kind of trouble. All of the books are stand-alones with guaranteed happy endings. Danger, romance, action, suspense, humor…oh, it’s definitely time to find some trouble…

Finished No Escape From War by Cynthia Eden WAAAAAAAY too fast and LOVED every action packed, sexy, thrilling and fun ride of this brand new series! This book was one I found myself not wanting to put down even for a second. It was amusing at times, and so sexy at others, I found myself breathless and squirming in my seat.

War and Rose have this undeniable, irresistible chemistry that you can feel the tension between them from the moment the two got together. War is tough, sexy and goes after what he wants with a stubbornness and determination that is beyond hot while Rose's dedication to catching the serial killer who is hot on her heels admirable and I easily could picture her being the kind of person that I would love to have in my corner as a friend. She is smart and sweet and gorgeous and is really the perfect match for someone like War. This book was full to bursting with pulse pounding action, danger and suspense as well as romance so steamy, you can feel the heat straight off the pages. It was also a lot of fun and kind of reminded me a bit of the romantic comedy Bounty Hunter. I found myself giggling and grinning more than once. I loved it! I can't wait to read about Odin's HEA too in the next book, Playing With Odin. I am seriously addicted to this new Trouble For Hire series and want ALL the books!

ARC Review - The Silencer by RC Boldt!

 The Silencer

USA Today bestselling author RC Boldt brings us an unforgettable tale of betrayal, vengeance, and redemption in her new romantic thriller, THE SILENCER...

No one wants to admit that sometimes only evil can extinguish other evil.

Each time I drain the life from their bodies, I inch closer to purging my past.

Then a by-the-book FBI agent—one as astute as he is handsome—threatens my plans...and what’s left of my heart.

He doesn’t believe there are exceptions to breaking the law. That’s where we differ.

They once silenced me and countless others, but now I’ve reversed our roles.

Because, this time, it’s my turn to be the silencer.

**The Silencer is a dark and gritty romantic suspense that deals with sensitive topics which may not be suitable for all readers.

First off, I am still recovering from this whopper of a story. And second, I want you all to know right now, the heroine sticks out to me the strongest in this particular story than the hero. This is a heavy story everyone with some serious heavy subject content but I am telling you all, this book is worth reading and is worth EVERY single star this book gets!

As I was reading The Silencer, I kept thinking the heroine reminded me of Dexter. And I LOVED Dexter! Kennedy is the most BAD A** heroine EVER! Hands down. What she went through and what she grew up doing made me be in awe of her. She is fierce and beautiful, like an avenging angel. Landon is a charming hero and is just as fierce in his desire to put a stop to these bad guys, even if his brand is much nicer than they deserve. And you can feel the way Landon and Kennedy connect. Its like a roaring fire that consumes them but instead of burning out of control, it  settles to a gentle flame that warms the heart. I so enjoyed their connection and passion.

The Silencer is a hard subject book that will tear your heart to shreds and blow your mind and aim to seek your own brand of vengeance on these types of bad guys. I freaking loved how powerful and ALL consuming this story was. I don't usually ever read these types of stories because this type of subject is so difficult to hear about. But honestly, Kennedy is what made this book and the difficult subject ok to deal with. Her strength and what she does not only give herself some relief, but it also helps others that were tormented by these bad guys too. I am seriously crushing on this heroine and I don't think any book can compare to this amazing, powerful, YOU'LL NEED TISSUES AND A STRONG DRINK story that left me hung over for DAYS! I haven't read ANYTHING like this and I doubt anyone else could write this type of story with the difficult subject in a way that would draw readers and have them feeling like they just read something that blew them away and caused such a ruckus with their emotions. That is why I am thrilled to say, this book is getting a TEN EMOTIONALLY CHARGED, TOTALLY CRUSHING ON THE HEROINE STARS! This story is AMAZING!!

ARC Review - The Gravedigger's Son (1001 Nights Novella) by Darynda Jones!

The Gravedigger’s Son (Charley Davidson #13.6)

The job should have been easy.

Get in. Assess the situation. Get out. But for veteran tracker Quentin Rutherford, things get sticky when the girl he’s loved since puberty shows up, conducting her own investigation into the strange occurrences of the small, New Mexico town. He knew it would be a risk coming back to the area, but he had no idea Amber Kowalski had become a bona fide PI, investigating things that go bump in the night. He shouldn’t be surprised, however. She can see the dead as clearly as he can. The real question is, can she see through him?

But is anything that’s worth it ever easy?

To say Amber is shocked to see her childhood crush would be the understatement of her fragile second life. One look at him tells her everything she needs to know. He’s changed. So drastically she barely recognises him. He is savage now, a hardened - in all the right places - demon hunter, and she is simply the awkward, lovestruck girl he left behind.

But she doesn’t have time to dwell on the past. A supernatural entity has set up shop, and it’s up to them to stop it before it kills again.

While thousands of questions burn inside her, she has to put her concern over him, over what he’s become, aside for now. Because he’s about to learn one, undeniable fact: she’s changed, too.

I am over the moon happy for The Gravedigger's Son! It felt AAAAAAAMAZZZZZING to finally get Quentin and Amber's story! I adored these two in The Charley Davidson Series. They were so cute together then but now, their chemistry and heat made me giggly. Like a high school chatting with her crush giggly and yet REALLY happy at the same time. I wasn't expecting Quentin to be so...male and sexy and protective. I knew he was cute when he was younger but he grew up FIIIIINE if you get my drift. And Amber, I freaking LOVED what she does for a living. She definitely took after her aunt Charley for sure. And what Quentin holds inside him made him that much more alluring in my eyes.

This novella reminded me a bit of the movie Constantine except way more fun and hotter and wittier. I got a huge thrill reading this story and I honestly can't wait to do a major re-read of The Charley Davidson series as well as these novellas thanks to this fun and sexy read! This is an unforgettable treasure and will be cherished by the Charley Davidson fan club everywhere.

The Gravedigger's Son gets a THRILLING FIVE DEMON SIZED STARS!

ARC Review - Vampire (1001 Dark Nights Novella) by Rebecca Zanetti!

 Vampire (Dark Protectors, #12.5)

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Rebecca Zanetti comes a new story in her Dark Protectors/Rebels series…

Dr. Mariana Lopez has finally stopped bailing friends out of difficult situations. Well, except for substituting as the leader for another anger management group, pitching in as a campaign strategist for a prospective sheriff, and babysitting three dogs. Even with such a full life, she can feel the danger around her—a sense that something isn’t right. Nightmares harass her, until the real thing comes to life, and only the dark and sexy male sitting in her group can save her. However, with safety comes a price she might not be willing to pay.

Raine Maxwell is one of the Maxwells out of Montana, which means he's not only one of the most deadly vampires alive, but his path is set and his mate has been chosen for him. To save him—to continue his line. Unfortunately, his mate is an enhanced human female who has no idea of her abilities, of his species, or of her future. He’d like to lead her gently into this new world, but his people aren’t the only ones who’ve found her, which puts her into more danger than she can imagine. Plus, in order to follow his laws, he only has one week to convince her that immortality with him is what she wants—and needs.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

I just finished Vampire and the feeling of utter satisfaction I got from this thrilling, fun, fast paced novella featuring sexy and mysterious vampire Raine Maxwell and his sweet and bold human mate, Mariana Lopez is almost impossible to explain! These two about scorched my e-reader with their wild chemistry and soul deep connection. The push and pull about made my blood heat up in my veins and had me smiling and sighing from start to finish.

Finally learning about Raine and his family's ''curse" made him special in a way that other immortals in The Realm or outside of the Realm aren't. He is mysterious, sexy, possessive and learning about the details of his "curse" made him even more likable in my opinion. His strength and stubbornness and all around possessiveness and protectiveness made him hotter than I expected him to be. And Marianna is truly a phenomenal person and the certainly one of the most kind heroines in the series. I can see her in my mind's eye being a fantastic friend and she obviously is one great therapist with a heart that is so good and true. She is a great match for Raine and will definitely keep him on his toes for centuries to come! Raine and Marianna's novella was so good. Fast paced yes, but not lacking in sexiness, heat or danger. It sure kept me nibbling my bottom lip as I was turning the pages and all but purring with contentment from the moment I started it to the very last page. I STILL have a smile on my face and its all because Vampire was AMAZING!

ARC Review - Immortal Danger by Cynthia Eden!

 Immortal Danger by [Cynthia Eden]

Sexy shapeshifters and lots of suspense combine in this scintillating new paranormal novel from the author of "Midnight Sins" and "Hotter After Midnight."

Being Bullet Proof Sucks--Literally
Once, Maya Black was a kick-ass cop patrolling the streets of L.A. She still keeps the city safe, but nowadays her bad guys of choice include demons, werewolves, and assorted nocturnal scum. Something Maya knows a thing or two about. She's a vampire--and not thrilled about it. Payback meet bitch.

Adam Brody hopes Maya is as dangerous as they say she is. He needs her to help rescue his niece Cammie from a ruthless band of vamps, and he's willing to pay--in blood. Trusting her is another matter. Adam has never met a vampire who doesn't lie. Then again, he's never met anyone like Maya, who fills him with a desperate need that ignites into explosive, no-holds-barred encounters. . .

How in the ever loving heck did I miss out on Immortal Danger?! This book was AMAZING, like FIREWORKS AT THE FOURTH OF JULY AMAZING!

First off, Maya was a total badass that I honestly had a girl crush on! She was tough as nails, smart, and even though she claimed she didn't she had a heart of gold. And Adam...WOWZA, he turned out to be a stupendous surprise. He has a secret that I down right found appealing. He was crazy old but after finding out his secret it just made him more sexy and dangerous in a way that really excited me. Him and Maya had the kind of chemistry that thrills and delights a reader. You can feel the delicious tension through the pages and I loved it!  And the danger and action that followed throughout the book just made it that much better. This book stole my breath and had my heart melting and swooning at every turn. This is a paranormal romance that will have readers (if they haven't read a book by Cynthia Eden yet) coming back BEGGING for more. SO. EFFING. GOOD.

THE CONCLUSION TO THIS AMAZING, ONE OF A KIND SERIES WAS EVERYTHING! Sexy, heartfelt, emotional, sweet and heart pounding exciting, Sheltered By The Sea Lord made my heart feel soooo good and happy!

Gailen and Starr were honestly my second favorite couple in this delightful series! Gailen had a warrior's heart  that was strong, kind, patient and he was so sexy and charming. I really was enthralled by him! And Starr is such a great heroine as well. Her "shield" she puts up to protect herself from feeling is something I can totally relate to. She was so smart and seemed to fit Gailen like a perfect puzzle piece. Their story made me tear up at times, had me smiling and the adventures sure knocked my socks off! I never knew quite what to expect and I really liked that. I will sure miss these Lords Of Atlantis stories but I also can't wait to go back through and read them ALL again though. If you love Under The Sea adventures that are fun, sweet, sexy and full of surprises I highly recommend you pick up Starla Night's Lords Of Atlantis series. Each one is a standalone and each one is so much fun!

NetGalley eARC Review - Rebel's Karma (Dark Protectors #13) by Rebecca Zanetti!

 Rebel's Karma (Dark Protectors, #13)

There’s no denying destiny . . .

For too long, Benjamin Reese has masked his deadly skills and temper with loyalty and humor. A vampire-demon hybrid, he fiercely protects his family, guards his brothers, and destroys the enemy without mercy. But when he discovers one fragile, beautiful blonde—a woman once mated to a Kurjan, no less—every primal instinct he has buried for centuries roars to life. With the mating mark she roused on his hand entwining their fates, no one will prevent him from keeping her safe and making her his, forever . . .

Or desire . . .

Karma wishes she could remember her last name. Or if she even had one. All she has in this confusing new world is a desperate duty to save the innocent. That means destroying the dark, dangerous, and desirable Benjamin Reese and everything he loves—an impossible task even before his touch arouses a passionate hunger she can’t afford. She’s certain a deadly enemy watches her every move, but it’s not until Benny kisses her that she tastes true danger…

Benny sure tuned out to be one of the most loved, funny, sweet, crazy and irresistible heroes EVER in the Dark Protector world!

I wasn't expecting to love Benny as much as I did, but I really couldn't resist him. There was something almost easy going and kind behind his uniquely crazy and entertaining personality that I adored completely! And I think Karma brought out the very best in him even more so. I was equally charmed by Karma as I was for Benny too. She was brave, smart, honest and perfect. If there was a complete and utter perfect and kind heroine ever to be born in a book, Karma is it! Karma and Benny as a mated pair make me insanely happy.

Rebel's Karma was intense, amusing, sexy and full of danger and humor. It was fascinating seeing the inner Kurjan and Cyst territory from Karma's perspective. I feel we get a really good look at how dangerous and deadly they are and how important the Seven is to taking them and Ulric down for good. I am in awe of this book and am so looking forward to Sam's and Garrett's stories! These books are truly fantastic!

Rebel's Karma gets a WILDLY CRAZY AND ENTERTAINING FIVE BLAZING HOT STARS! If there is one book in the whole Dark Protector series that should be praised again and again, it should be Rebel's Karma. This book was AWESOME!

ARC Review - The Fae King's Prize (Between Dawn & Dusk Book 3) by Jamie Schlosser!

The Fae King's Prize (Between Dawn and Dusk #3)

When I wake up at a female auction in a world I don’t recognize, all I can think about is getting back home to Texas. I want absolutely nothing to do with a realm called Valora, magic, faeries, or being sold to the highest bidder.

But the Day Realm king has other plans.

Zander says I’m his fated mate. I don’t believe him. That doesn’t stop him from tricking me into marrying him, though. It doesn’t matter if I argue or run—he won’t let me go.

I should hate him. Instead, I find myself ridiculously attracted to the stubborn, broody man. Sometimes he terrifies me, so I don’t know why his rare smiles give me warm tingles or why his arms make me feel safe.

Everything about Valora is confusing, but after just a short time here, I realize something—this place is full of dangers that are way more frightening than my new husband, and staying by his side just might be my only option.

Sexy to the max, passionate beyond words and with one jaw dropping adventure after another in between bouts of swoon worthy romance, The Fae King's Prize is 100% spectacular! Zander is so broody and sexy that he made me equal parts infuriated and hot and bothered. He was like what catnip is to cats to me, IRRISTIBLE! And I found his beast form to be absolutely awesome and incredible. And Maelyn is so sweet and lovable and I loved her right off the bat. She was such a brave and compassionate and strong willed heroine I couldn't help but think she really was King Zander's perfect match.

Zander and Mae's story was sensational. I loved how Zander found Mae and what he did to make her his. And his broody and possessive ways was hotter than anything I could of expected. The action and danger sped up my heart but seeing the incredible romance bloom slow and hot was my favorite part. And I REALLY enjoyed the fact that we got more....story than sex. Don't get me wrong I love some sexy times, but sometimes I feel like there is too much sex in romances anymore than actual story. So I think Jamie did a absolute AMAZING job with writing a romance that had more story with some sexy times here and there instead of every other chapter. But oh my, those sexy times were sure filled with some MAJOR heat!  Zander turned out to be quite a dominant hero. I LOVED IT!

The Fae King's Prize gets a SHOW STOPPING 10 SHOOTING STARS! This book has it all and I want to shout it out to the rooftops!

ARC Review - Beyond The Black Mist (The Familiar Curse # 2) by C.L. Bright!

Beyond the Black Mist (The Familiar Curse #2)

Star-crossed lovers separated by magic and fate.

Juliet and Dante’s tale continues.

After spending much of her life fighting her destiny, Juliet is finally ready to take her place as the future leader of the Heathergate Refuge. No matter what it takes, she will return to her home. Only one thing matters more—finding Dante.

With the help of new allies, each tries to make their way back to each other, but nothing is going according to plan.

Their enemies are closing in.

Will Dante and Juliet find happiness?

Can Juliet make it back to her home in time to stop her treacherous stepmother?

I love following Juliet and Dante so much! This world is not only fascinating and unique but enchanting and full of wonder and mystery too.

The second Familiar Curse novel starts pretty much where the first book left off.  Beyond The Black Mist got more intriguing and Juliet and Dante's love for each other felt innocent, real, passionate and was quite amazing. I loved watching these two fight for each other and enjoyed them get through the danger that lurked throughout the story. The plot definitely thickened within this second book and I really got into it big time. Everything about this series is stealing my heart and I know once I finish it, I will have to buy these books in paperback because the love I have for this stunning new series is crazy high! I can't wait to find out how things turn out in the third book!

ARC Review - Sinning With Mia (Deluded Serenity #1) by Cassandra Lawson!

Sinning with Mia (Deluded Serenity #1)

Mia is a mistake I can’t resist repeating.

Our one night together played out like some overdone cliché.

The only two single people at a wedding, we practically fell into bed. I can’t even blame it on alcohol since neither of us had been drinking.

It was all Mia. I was drunk on her laughter, her scent, and her taste.

Months later, I still want her, but that’s not going to happen. We both agreed there would be no repeat of that night. Mia is my friend, and nothing more.

One phone call changes everything.

I’ve rescued Mia from bad dates before, but never by pretending to be her boyfriend at a sex club.

How much temptation can a man take?

After spending months acting like there is nothing more than friendship between us, I’m done pretending. I have six weeks until my band leaves for our first big tour to convince Mia’s she mine.

I plan to win her over one seduction at a time.

Sinning With Mia was a good story with heat, humor, lightness with fun banter and a romance that made my heart happy!

I was excited for this book when it hit my kindle and for good reason! Mia and Lex are so cute together. The bedroom scenes were equal parts fun and super hot. I loved the way the story was light and fun. It didn't feel overly serious and wasn't a downer. It is the kind of book I think every reader will find entertaining and feel happy about reading. The BDSM elements made it sexier too and heightened my pleasure in the story a couple of notches. Mia and Lex are a lovable couple and I can easily picture them in real life making their friends smile. It really was a great read!

ARC Review - Adverse Possession (Anna Albertini Files #3) by Rebecca Zanetti

Adverse Possession (The Anna Albertini Files, #3)

The plural form of Nemesis is Nemeses

Anna Albertini never thought she’d have to look up the plural form of nemesis. In fact, she never thought she’d have one, much less three. But as she and her new partner try to make a go of their fledgling law firm, enemies come from every direction.

First, there’s a newspaper reporter trying to make a name for herself by dogging Anna’s every move. Second, there’s a lawyer on the opposite side of every case who just doesn’t like Anna. And third, there’s Aiden Devlin’s ex-girlfriend, who decides to descend upon the sleeping Idaho town like a bird of prey. It’s too bad she’s discovered dead…after finding herself on the wrong end of a potato gun, putting Anna top of the suspect list.

Anna deals with every day as it arrives while juggling her developing relationship with Aiden, trying to pay her rent by finding at least one client who pays, and finally by partnering with her Nonna Albertini in the world’s most chaotic plan to match-make her sister with the Elk County’s prosecuting attorney, Nick Basanelli. It’s a good thing Anna has learned to thrive in chaos.

An unbelievably exciting third book in my favorite Anna Albertini Files series! Adverse Possession has so much to offer: My favorite fictional lawyer, a swoon AND drool worthy hero, a twisty, adventurous, action packed plot and great banter and a fantastic amount of humor that leaves a reader either grinning, giggling or both!

Anna is seriously entertaining and she gets into so much trouble without even trying and I loved it! All the mind blowing action and danger mixed with sexy devilish Aiden coming to the rescue and Anna's sweetness and smarts and the way she goes through life with her chin held high even after danger strikes makes her even more likable in my book. Add in my curiosity and intrigue with a couple of her cousins, her sisters, and Nick and I think I will forever be hooked on this series, even long after I finish each and every one as they get released. This is a special series that I love with every fiber of my being. A top ten...no, a top FIVE favorite series for certain!

The Mind Witch Release with ARC Review!

 Release Date: March 1

My plan was simple and…mostly ordinary. Finish my PhD. Teach Celtic mythology in a tiny college town. Stop hearing the thoughts and feelings of every person I happened to meet.

As a wayward seer just coming into her powers, I couldn’t avoid the last one.

But the first two were just within my reach when sorcerer-particle physicist Jonathan Lynch appeared one chilly winter morning along two other shocks:

The death of my grandmother, the most powerful seer in a generation;
And the mysterious box she protected, which just might have belonged to Pandora.

Suddenly I was tangled in a secret that had been unraveling for years, and my unruly talents and complicated inheritance were at the heart of it all.

Ordinary life would have to wait.

The extraordinary was coming for me after all.

A hot debut series in the tradition of Deborah Harkness, Diana Gabaldon, and Anne Rice weaves magic, scholarship, and romance for readers who crave a little adventure.

The Mind Witch was a intriguing, mysterious, enchanting and impossible to ignore story featuring so many exciting elements with magic and seers. This book reminded me so much of The Discovery Of Witches by Deborah Harkness except this story was more appealing and way more easier to follow.

Nicole Demery is off too a great start with this debut story. I felt like this book contained a good mix of realistic-ness and fiction. It felt....magical and completely unique. I thoroughly liked it and can't wait for the next one!

ARC Review - The Spellcaster's Trap (The Familiar Curse #1) by C.L. Bright!

The Spellcaster's Trap (The Familiar Curse #1)

In a world where spellcasters and shapeshifter are at constant war, is anyone truly safe?

Destined to be the future leader of the Heathergate Refuge, seventeen-year-old Juliet has lived a life sheltered from the dangers many shapeshifters face. She has never had to worry about being hunted by spellcasters—never had to fear being enslaved as a familiar.

One act of betrayal changes everything.

When Juliet awakens in a spellcaster’s trap, she experiences terror like none she has ever known. With no way to prove her identity, she has little hope of survival.

An enemy of her kind becomes her only ally.

Dante is more than a warlock. As a member of the Azuredale hunter family, he’s the last person Juliet should trust. He is her enemy, yet there is no denying the strange connection between them.

Will Dante be able to help Juliet return to the Heathergate Refuge to take her revenge on the traitors who left her for dead?

Or will their unlikely alliance end in tragedy for them both?

I am incredibly pleased and exciting for this new series, The Familiar Curse! The Spellcaster's Trap was wonderfully imaginative and fun and magical. Dante and Juliet have completely captured my heart and their story was full of sweet romance and mystery and lots of thrilling surprises.

I am 100% HOOKED on The Spellcaster's Trap! Dante is a dream worthy hero who I instantly had a crush on. He is sweet, caring, intelligent and his instant desire to protect Juliet when they first met had my heart melting while Juliet was an insanely smart and her strength and beauty amazed me. I loved the banter so much and thought the story progressed beautifully from start to finish! Not too lengthy and not too short this leaves you hanging on edge. I can't express how happy I am with this new series. Its a page turner!

ARC Review - Beguiled (Betwixt & Between #3) by Darynda Jones!

Beguiled (Betwixt & Between #3)

Newly indoctrinated witch, Defiance Dayne discovers there’s more to life after forty than she'd ever imagined possible. Especially if one is a charmling, one of only three in the world, with enough magics to make her a target for every power-hungry warlock out there. When one of them sends a hunter to town, she knows it’s time to take her talents seriously before the hunter takes her life.

She decides she has three things to do before she can die. Find out who killed her beloved grandmother, teach her BFF the finer points of spellcasting before she blows up the world, and figure out how serious her relationship with the Adonis living in her basement really is. If it’s heading in the direction she’s hoping for, she can die happy. Though, admittedly, she’d rather not. Die. Happy or otherwise.

None of that will matter, however, if she can’t figure out how to foil the supernatural assassin who’s been sent for her. Until then, it’s business—and hopefully romance—as usual. Now if she can only figure out how to tame a lacuna wolf.

I ADORE Darynda Jones's amazing writing skills. Beguiled was SO GOOD and INCREDIBLE and A TON OF FUN too. Learning the depth of Defiance's charmling powers is not just fascinating but thrilling too. And then I get a twist that made me squeal with excitement the moment its revealed and left me even more excited than I was to begin with. This world is magical, entertaining, brilliant and the characters from sexy shifter Roane all the way down to Mr. Shoemaker make them feel like friends that I have known for years. They made me laugh and feel and I love each and every one of them. This story is magic pure and simple. Its the kind of story that you will want to dive in again and again and never tire of. I want to say more, I REALLY do, but I DO NOT want to give ANYTHING away so I will leave it at this...if you are looking for a magical good time with mystery, humor and sexy times and a nice dose of surprises, you  don't want to miss this addicting series!

NetGalley e-ARC Review - Rescue Cowboy Style by Rebecca Zanetti in the Lone Wolf Anthology!

 Lone Wolf

Loyal as a wolf—and just as strong and untamed—three solitary heroes are about to meet their perfect partners, in this thrilling collection from a trio of New York Times bestselling authors . . .

Fleeing her mother’s killer, Esther Marist ends up at a rugged stranger’s cabin. A wildlife rehabilitator with a menagerie that includes an elderly wolf, Matthews isn’t the type to turn any creature away. As Esther heals, she realizes how much danger she’s brought to his door—and how far he’ll go to protect her.

Beth Baker senses her grumpy summer tenant must be in trouble when his pet wolf shows up at her door, demanding she follow. Conner O’Neil, solitary and stubborn, doesn’t want Beth’s help—but only he can show her how to trust again.

Trent Logan has his ranch, his friends, and his wolf, and that's more than enough—until a shivering city girl runs into the Cattle Club to escape a Wyoming storm. Her eyes hold a world of secrets, and he’ll have to face the demons of his own past in order to save them both.

Immediately downloading Lone Wolf, I turned to Rebecca Zanetti's story in the Anthology, Rescue Cowboy Style. Reading this story had me all sorts of excited and eager for a new series. I loved our sexy cowboy hero, Trent and I could really relate to the heroine since she is allllll city girl. This story had so much to love: An irresistible plot and a hero and heroine that had major chemistry with lots of humor and good banter.

These cowboys that were introduced in this story had me intrigued and fascinated and made my heart gallop in excitement. This story had my blood sizzling and had my knees weak  and gave me such happiness. I loved how this story came together. It was fast paced, sexy as ever, and was a generally delightful read. I finished this waaaay too fast and am already eager and dying for another one. I haven't read the other two stories yet, but I am definitely going back right now and reading them!

Rescue Cowboy Style gets a SWOON WORTHY FIVE RED HOT STARS!

Securing Jane A 1001 Dark Nights Novella Blog Tour Stop with ARC Review!

Securing Jane, an all-new must read Seal of Protection: Legacy Series Novella from New York Times bestselling author Susan Stoker and 1,001 Dark Nights is available now!

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Susan Stoker comes a new story in her SEAL of Protection: Legacy Series…

Over the years, Storm North has witnessed two teams of Navy SEALs under his command find true love. He doesn’t expect the same for himself. He’s too old. Too jaded. Too set in his ways. Until a woman who’s been right in front of him for years manages to impress Storm in a way very few women—or men—ever have.

Jane Hamilton knows it’s ridiculous to have a crush on the charismatic and handsome commander. She’s the divorced mother of a twenty-six-year-old daughter. Too old for crushes. Too old for a lot of things. There’s no chance she’ll ever catch the eye of a man like Storm North.

Until someone delivers a bomb to the base.

As the civilian contractor in charge of the mail room, Jane finds herself in the direct line of fire, enduring a series of events that leads to a budding relationship with the very man she’s been longing for. She couldn’t be happier, and Storm feels the same.

The only one unhappy, in fact, is the thwarted bomber. Unhappy enough to do something drastic. Now Storm and Jane have to work together to save innocent sailors—and themselves—from an explosive situation threatening their happily ever after.

**Securing Jane is the 7th book in the SEAL of Protection: Legacy Series and a part of the 1001 Dark Nights collection. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

**Every 1,001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

What a great book for February! Susan Stoker's Securing Jane made me fall in love all over again with her amazing hero and equally amazing heroine!

Storm and Jane come together thanks to danger that comes calling and the sparks and passion and romance collide together wonderfully with the danger and suspense. It was easy to get lost in this book and after it ended, I felt content and excited. I really adore these older characters. They burn with a stronger passion in my opinion that I find sweet and awe-inspiring. I loved the action and slow burn romance and how this book made me feel. Such a great read!

She was sure Storm had to have a girlfriend, though he wasn’t married, as far as Jane knew. She constantly checked out his left hand for a ring.

On the outside looking in, Storm North was the perfect catch, and she was…simply Jane. Plain Jane, as her ex used to call her. It was a nickname their daughter had picked up and taunted her with for most of her mean teenage years.

Raising Rose by herself hadn’t been a walk in the park. At first, Jake had wanted to co-raise their daughter, but as the years went by, and he moved from one base to another, his trips to see her had become fewer and fewer. It affected Rose greatly. She’d felt abandoned, blaming her mom for the fact that her dad wasn’t around. She’d snuck out of their apartment all the time in high school and graduated by the skin of her teeth.

Jane hadn’t been surprised when she’d moved out on her eighteenth birthday. There were even a few years when Jane thought she’d wake up to a knock on the door from the police, letting her know that Rose was dead of an overdose or because she’d hooked up with the wrong man. But finally, after several painful years for them both, things had at least leveled out when it came to their relationship. She was twenty-six, had a steady boyfriend—who Jane didn’t know at all—and was at least making an effort to be a little nicer. She wasn’t sure what her daughter was doing for a living, but when Rose did reach out, she was no longer begging for money.

It was kind of pathetic that Jane was taking that as a good sign.

In the near decade that she’d been living on her own, Jane had felt as if she’d been learning who she was as a woman.

At first she’d been Jake’s girlfriend. Then his Navy wife. Then she was the woman who’d been dumped and a single mother. She’d struggled for so long and so hard that she still felt as if she was finding herself. Which was somewhat silly after half a century, but there it was. And she wanted to find love again. Find a man who would support her as much as she supported him. Wanted someone to laugh with…and do all the naughty things she’d been fantasizing about for years and years.

But Storm North wasn’t that man.

Jane knew it, but that didn’t mean she could stop fantasizing about him.

Pushing the mail cart down the hallway, Jane felt her heart rate increase as she got closer to Storm’s office. It was silly. Ridiculous. But she felt as if she was in middle school again, about to see the boy she had a massive crush on.

But Storm was no boy, that was for sure.

She entered his administrative assistant’s office and smiled at the man sitting behind the desk.

“Good morning,” she said cheerily.

“Hi, Jane,” the young man replied with a smile. “Go on in. He’s not in a meeting.”

“Thanks,” Jane told him, hoping she didn’t look as excited as she felt. She didn’t get to see Storm every day, since he was a very busy man, and whenever she did, it made her morning.
