ARC Review - Foster by Kristie Leigh!

 Foster

BLURB:

Dear Diary,

Just messin’ with you. I don’t have time for that crap, but here’s my story.

I was finally coming clean to my best friend about how this divorced, single mom attempted to get back in the dating game...and wound up with an old flame.

Enough stalling, it was time to spill it ... ALL

Foster Montgomery was my best friend's hot younger brother. Back in high school, we used to have a thing. And by “thing,” I mean we used to mess around--behind closed doors, because apparently, that was all I was good for.

Finally, many years later, I had the chance to get my revenge. If wet dreams, steamy make-out sessions on my couch, and “naked yoga” in my living room counted as revenge, then I nailed it!

He was still keeping secrets, but this time, I planned to make it known exactly what he’d done behind those closed doors.

MY REVIEW:

A wonderfully pleasant and satisfying second chance romance that hit the spot on humor, wit, charm and a delightful plot!

Foster was exactly what I needed. It was equal partst sexy and fun with witty banter and a storyline that perked me up from the very moment I started reading. I loved the characters and liked the way the story came together. It made for a perfect end of summer read!

Foster gets a FINE FOUR GOLD STARS!

ARC Review - Gwen's Delta (Delta Team 3) by Lynne St. James!

Gwen's Delta (Special Forces: Operation Alpha / Delta Team Three Book 3)

BLURB:

Shy bookstore owner Guinevere Dedmond resigned herself to living her dreams through the pages of the books she sells. But when she receives a mysterious call demanding she pay ransom to save her parents, her comfortable world erupts in chaos. Panicked, she turns to the sexy soldier who swept her off her feet, not knowing he's part of an elite spec ops team.

Luke “Merlin” Forest and his Delta Team are no strangers to uncovering terrorist plots and stopping them, but when he discovers Gwen's parents are involved, the risks and stakes get a lot higher. His sexy bookworm has given him a taste of stability that he's never had before, and this mission threatens to blow that relationship out of the water. Risking his life has always been part of his job—but it just got personal.

MY REVIEW:

An excellent and ultra thrilling read with a phenomenally sweet romance and enough action and suspense that kept the adrenaline pumping!

Lynne St. James is one of my favorite authors when it comes to heart wrenching and sigh worthy romances. And Gwen's Delta is just THE BEST! I loved shy Guinevere and sexy hero Luke. These two had a gentle but sure chemistry that instantly made my heart happy and had my knees weak. I loved that Gwen had to get Luke's help. It made for a damsel in distress storyline that really knocked my socks off. It was everything I needed and a bit more. Perfection!

The Dead Heat Of Summer Tour Stop with ARC Review!

The Dead Heat of Summer, an all-new, must-read novella in the enthralling Krewe of Hunters series by New York Times bestselling author Heather Graham, is available now!

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Heather Graham comes a new story in her Krewe of Hunters series…

Casey Nicholson has always had what her grandmother calls ‘The Touch.’

It runs in her family.

But even so, she isn’t prepared for the ghost in the old Nola graveyard who comes to her shedding tears that she can almost touch. She knows she’d been the victim of a malicious murder and fears now for her infant daughter and her sister, left to care for the baby.

The ghost is Lena Marceau, the tragic young woman who had married into the fabulously wealthy Marceau family of New Orleans. Her husband had died tragically and mysteriously just the year before and Lena is convinced that they were murdered by someone with an agenda, most likely to take over Marceau Industries, an architectural and engineering company dating back to French rule in the city.

Casey isn’t at all sure how she can help Lena. She isn’t an investigator or with any form of law enforcement. She has an art shop and reads tarot cards and tea leaves on Jackson Square and in her little shop.

But when she receives a visit from a tall, dark—and very handsome—stranger, she realizes that she’s being drawn into a deadly game where she must discover the truth or lose her own life in the trying.

Ryder McKinley, Special Agent with the Krewe of Hunters, has his own strange connection to the case. In New Orleans to solve the murder and protect the child, he has arrived at Casey’s shop on the hunt for the ghost of his murdered cousin. He fears the fact that Casey’s involvement puts her in danger, yet she’s already knee-deep in deadly waters. There’s nothing to do but follow the leads, lest all their souls fall prey to a vicious and very human evil.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

Excerpt:

She had his daughter…
There was a commotion at the front door below. Ryder glanced at Braxton, turned, and hurried downstairs.
The police at the entry were speaking with two people. One a young man, perhaps thirty, dignified-looking in a business suit. He had dark hair that had been pushed back in his nervousness, soft brown eyes, and a medium build.
The woman was older, thin, and straight-backed, with gray hair queued at her nape. Ryder knew them. He’d met them at Lena’s wedding. Justin Marceau, Anthony Marceau’s second cousin, and Gail Reeves, the head housekeeper.
“Ryder!” Justin said. “Oh, my God, I saw the ambulance—”
“Where’s the baby? What’s happened?” Gail demanded. “I’m trying to tell these buffoons I work here. I manage the house. Lena! Where is Lena? Where is the baby?”
“Lena is dead. The baby is safe,” Ryder said quietly. “Where have you been?” he asked Gail, looking at Justin to add, “And what are you doing here?”
Both burst into tears. Amidst it all, they learned it had been Gail’s afternoon off. No, they hadn’t been at the house earlier. Justin had come now because he’d heard that a few members of the board were coming by to explain a hike in the price of one of the drugs the company manufactured.
Ryder wondered if the display of tears was real. Justin was a Marceau…
But the estate and the company had been left to the baby, or rather her legal guardian, to watch over all until she was of age.
He didn’t want to see Lena again, not even as she was, an angel. He had touched her…
And nothing.
Ryder left the Marceau mansion. He’d go see Lena’s sister, Stephanie Harrow, as soon as he could. As well as his cousin’s friend, Vicki, who had little Annette.
How that baby loved her mother. And how Lena had doted on her beloved child.
No.
No matter what anyone said, Lena wouldn’t have left her baby.
