ARC Review - The Illusions of Eventide by Sarah M. Cradit!

BLURB:

Nicolas Deschanel was betrayed by the only two people who matter to him. Their disloyalty stung and an overwhelming sense of loss lingers. Nicolas has lived the high life professing to not have a care in the world, and now this illusion is calling his bluff.

Determined to take control of an existence now devoid of purpose, he sojourns to his family's holiday home on the Gulf of Mexico. Resolved more than depressed, he plans to privately say goodbye to a world which no longer needs him. Of questionable fortune, he finds a woman, Mercy, sitting alone on the shore at eventide. Nicolas is conflicted between an obligation to help, and annoyance at her intrusion.

Mercy has many layers of secrets. Deepest of all, she cannot tell this Child of Man she is thousands of years old and very powerful. In her presence, Nicolas' own dormant powers begin to surface, triggering a sequence of events that cause both of their lives to spiral further out of control. When old friends from both sides come to help, together they all learn a painful truth: new life can only begin once you've set free what means the most.

MY REVIEW:

This story is completely different and unique than other books I have read. I am usually a romance fan and even though these stories have a touch of romance its more paranormal fantasy. The writing is pretty good though. The characters are compelling and the story is very interesting and full of surprises.

I liked the plot for this story. It had some ups and downs and twists that keeps you on your toes. I do wish there was more romance but surprisingly enough I enjoyed this book anyway, even without a ton of it.

The Illusions of Eventide is magical, captures a readers attention and is very well written with originality. I give this a WONDERFUL FOUR SHOOTING STARS!

ARC Review - Deadly Obsession by J. Lea!

Detective O`Rilley will do everything in his powers to find an obsessed stalker, whose sole purpose is to get April.

MY REVIEW:

Deadly Obsessions was one heck of a thrill ride! It was nonstop suspense and intriguing twists and had my heart galloping wildly and excitement constantly humming through my veins. I loved the writing the characters and the plot that kept me on the constant edge. WOW!

This is my first story I have read by J. Lea and I was amazed and completely taken with this story. It was suspenseful story that had me on my toes. I can't get over how thrilling it was. This is one book that deserves a High score!

Title: Naughty at 30
Series: Love Without Batteries #2
Author: Cassandra Lawson
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: January 19th

Goodreads

Synopsis

Chelsea I’ve always loved those books where the younger sister falls for her older brother’s friend. Those stories have played a key role in my fantasies since my divorce six years ago. Unfortunately, I don’t have an older brother. I have a younger brother, and his best friend, Luke, has always been more annoying than attractive. At least, that’s how I’d seen him in the past.
Since Luke has walked back into my life, he is far from the awkward teen he was the last time I saw him. He is a walking temptation that I know I should avoid. Luke, on the other hand, has no doubts about our future, a fact he’s made clear from the moment we reconnected. He’s everything I could want in a man, which leaves me wondering if it’s really his age that bothers me, or if it’s my trust issues.

Love Without Batteries Series Following their disastrous marriages, Brook, Chelsea, and Delaney swore off men. After years of being on their own, these ladies have decided they want more. At the age of thirty, the three friends make a pact to re-enter the dating world. Little do they know they are all destined to find love in the arms of younger men.

***Each book in the Love Without Batteries series can be read as a standalone novel.

MY REVIEW:

Looking for a HOT, SUPER FUN, SEXY, PURE WICKEDNESS ROMANCE THAT WILL HAVE YOU CRAVING MORE? Then do NOT miss out on the second book in Cassandra Lawson's Love Without Batteries series. Its EXTREMELY hot, so VERY spicy, and full of giggle inducing moments as well as those rub-your-thighs-together moments that will leave you fanning yourself.

Naughty At 30 is definitely dirtier and sexier than Dirty At 30 and Luke..WOWZA! That sexy school teacher will have you wanting to learn a thing or two and you will LOOOOOVE everything he has to teach you. And Chelsea is pure fun and just surprisingly innocent but with a naughty side that will make you realize, she is PERFECT for Luke. This Love Without Batteries is one of my most FAVORITE series of 2016 and I personally can't wait for everyone to read Naughty At 30. Miss Lawson is incredibly talented and this romantic comedy will leave you hot, bothered and smiling with every turn of the page!

Naughty At 30 gets a WICKEDLY FUN FIVE SHOOTING STARS! This book is more entertaining than Dirty At 30 and Luke and Chelsea will leave you breathless and in love. An ABSOLUTE MUST READ!

Excerpt

So far, my attempts at online dating had been a complete failure. I hadn’t even met with any of the women from the site. It was nice chatting and looking at profiles first, because it made it easier to pass on women I knew I wouldn’t be compatible with. That had probably saved me from a bunch of horrible first dates. I’d been chatting with this one woman for the last twenty minutes, and so far, she seemed pretty normal. When I’d mentioned my original intent to major in marine biology, she’d told me how much she loved the Monterey Bay Aquarium. This was the first woman I’d felt any sort of connection with since I’d signed up for an account. I was about to ask if she wanted to meet for a drink when a new message popped up on the chat screen.
VIV1990: Are you cut or uncut?
Luke2160: Huh? What do you mean cut?
VIV1990: I’m talking about your winky. Is it cut or uncut?
What the fuck? Had she seriously asked if my dick was circumcised? I didn’t even know where she’d come up with winky as a name for my dick, but I was not happy with that one at all. I figured I might have misunderstood what she was asking, so I decided to ask for clarification. It seemed pretty obvious, but it was also a big shift in our conversation.
Luke2160: Are you asking if I’m circumcised?
VIV1990: Yes. I’ve never been with a guy with an uncut winky. What would I even call a winky with a hood?
Maybe something more manly than winky, I wanted to say.
VIV1990: How about Lord Vader.
Luke2160: Vader had a helmet, not a hood.
VIV1990: The Grim Reaper?
VIV1990: No, it’s probably best not to think of death when we're having sex. Unless we're talking about La Petite Mort.
Luke2160: La Petite Mort?
VIV1990: You know. The little death. So, I guess you are uncut. I’ll have to see your cute little guy to know how I feel about that.
This was fast becoming the craziest chat I’d had with any woman on this site, and she’d seemed like the sanest when we’d started talking. I knew I should just end the chat, but for some reason, I continued on with the insanity.
Luke2160: It is never okay to use the words cute or little when talking about anything related to my dick.
Now, I felt like an idiot. We weren’t having sex. She wasn’t going to get a personal introduction to Excalibur. Yes, I’d named my dick Excalibur. I’d always been kind of nerdy, and I wasn’t about to apologize for it.
VIV1990: I can’t wait to meet your Wee Willy Winky and see his hood. This will be an adventure. Just make sure you clean the little guy first. I’ve heard they can be dirty.
Luke2160: I don’t think this is going to work out.
VIV1990: Why not? Is the sweet winky being shy and doesn’t want to come out? Mommy can coax him out.
Nope. There was no way in hell she could coax him out. I was circumcised, something Excalibur was still angry with my parents for, but I didn’t feel the need to share that with a complete stranger.
Luke2160: Sorry, but I don’t think we’re compatible.
VIV1990: Okay. Hope you find the right woman. It was fun talking to you.
That was the best thing about online dating. Awkward conversations usually ended on a positive note. The women I turned down had other profiles to look at. The bad part was that I was beginning to wonder if I was the problem. How could it be that I’d chatted with so many women, yet I hadn’t been willing to meet with even one of them? This one I had good reason to avoid. Excalibur did not approve of her.
When my phone buzzed, I was tempted to ignore it, figuring it was another notification from the dating site, but I decided to check it and found a text from my stepmom, Brook.
BROOK: MissFixIt.
ME: This must be my day for strange conversations. Care to tell me what you’re talking about?
BROOK: I found the perfect woman for you on your dating site.
ME: Are you looking at women’s profiles to find one I’ll like?
BROOK: Just check her out. She’s exactly what you’ve been looking for.
ME: Thanks. I’ll check. Love you.
BROOK: Love you, too.
Opening the site up again, I typed in the profile name to search for MissFixIt and nearly swallowed my tongue when I saw the hot blonde standing in front of an impressive workbench with a tool belt around her hips. The picture made it obvious this woman liked to work with her hands, and she didn’t need a man to change a light bulb for her. Her well-worn jeans and tight black t-shirt hugged her sexy curves, making my dick throb with arousal. She was hot as fuck, and she was also my best friend’s older sister, a fact Brook already knew.
The last time I’d seen Chelsea, she’d been so drunk, she’d thought my name was Jake. Since I’m not the type to get turned on by intoxicated women, I’d been in no way interested. There had been this part of me that had assumed my adolescent crush on her was over when I’d had no reaction to her that night, but seeing this picture proved I was far from over Chelsea. I was definitely going to spend more time around MissFixIt.

Torn Between Two Release Blitz with ARC Review!

Title: Torn Between Two
Series: Torn Duet #1
Author: Mia Kayla
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: January 23, 2017

Blurb

I believe in fairy tales — the kind where a knight in shining armor sweeps me off my feet. Coming from a broken home, fairy tales housed the hope I clung to. Never in my life did I imagine two knights coming into my life— two knights that wore very different armor.

A rockstar versus a lawyer.
Fast and furious versus deliberate and calculated.
Intense and passionate versus strong and devoted.
Chaos versus stability.

I fell in love with one in the craziness of a concert.
I fell in love with the other in the silence of his compassion.

And now I am Torn Between Two.

MY REVIEW:

Torn Between Two is an unforgettable story of one woman and  a choice between two very compelling and sexy men. I wasn't sure what to expect with this story but I was more than pleased with it. I like how things had a bit of angst between the characters. I never knew which way things were going to go and it led to a very cliff hanging type of feeling which was pretty freaking good.

Torn Between Two robbed me of my sanity and slowly brought me back to sane. It was compelling and full of surprises and I enjoyed every moment of the story.

Torn Between Two gets a FANTASTIC FOUR SHOOTING STARS! Its a great romance that will have you biting your nails and trying to figure out which way our heroine should turn. Loved it!

Confessions of A Nerdoholic by Savannah Blevins Blog Tour with ARC Review!

Confessions of a Nerdoholic by Savannah Blevins

Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance
Publisher: Limitless Publishing
Release Date: January 24, 2016

— SYNOPSIS —

Eloise Duncan has a type. Skinny jeans and black rimmed glasses. She’s a nerdoholic and she isn’t ashamed…

Eloise isn’t the party all night, keg stand kind of college girl. She works part-time at the Sugar Cube bakery to pay her rent, and keeps her nose in a book. Even with her perfect academic record, and above par study habits, she manages to still have a failing Anatomy grade at mid terms. To cheer herself up, and make the extra study hours a little less torturous, she stops by the library a few hours a week to check out, Oliver Edwards, the guy of her dreams that doesn’t realize she exists. At least, not yet.

Eloise has a plan. Every guy, even nerds, can’t resist a good cupcake, and Eloise makes the best cupcakes on earth…

She leaves one of her famous strawberry cheesecake cupcakes on top of Oliver’s chemistry book when he takes a bathroom break. In fact, she does it every day for a week. And every day, Oliver’s smile at her kind gesture gets bigger and bigger. It’s enough to brighten her mood, but not enough to bring her grade up. That is until she accidently hits Oliver in the crotch with her anatomy book. Turns out, Oliver isn’t just hot, he’s also nice and forgiving. He offers to tutor Eloise in exchange for an endless supply of sugary treats.

It doesn’t take long for study sessions to turn into make out sessions. It’s a daydream come true, except for the fact that if Eloise doesn’t pass Anatomy, her father will jerk her out of school…

Her father never wanted her to go to her mother’s alma mater at Maryland State. He wants her back on the west coast, following in his foot steps at Pepperdine. He’ll use her bad grade to bring her home. Will Eloise be able to tame her nerd lust long enough to make the grade she needs to pass her class, or will she have to leave her new love behind in…
Confessions of a Nerdoholic.

MY REVIEW:

A giggle inducing, smexy, seriously fun and absolutely irresistible, Confessions of A Nerdaholic won my heart and soul and I couldn't put it down! This book is one of the most entertaining romances of the year. I am utterly addicted to Eloise and Oliver. These two are freaking cute together and watching the interaction between them as well as between Eloise and her friends is pure entertainment at its best. I lost count the number of times I laughed and I had more than once, sighed in complete satisfaction.

Savannah Blevins won herself a new fan thanks to this book. Her writing is fun, sweet, sassy, and will make you giggle, laugh until you want to pee, and will have you craving the next one. And I am SO craving the next book! This book was so much fun I plan on getting it on paperback. This is the type of romance that is worth checking out and trust me, you won't regret it.

Confessions of A Nerdaholic gets a FUN AND FIZZY FIVE SHOOTING STARS! Its outrageously fun and pure delight and is as sweet as pie.
