The woman he just rescued is the one “Buck” Graham Buckner lost when he had to pull a vanishing act. Now the navy SEAL has to get Angela Vega out of Africa before the warlord he came to the continent to find kills them both. But the beautiful physician has children in her care, so they embark on a treacherous journey to protect them. Now Buck has a new mission—rekindling the love he never forgot.
EXCERPT:
She’d counted it off as young love and fought her depression
to get on with her life, telling herself he hadn’t been worth the tears she’d
cried. In the back of her mind, and deep in her heart, she’d still mourned her
loss. She’d read first love was always hardest to get over.
Angela thought she’d done a pretty good job moving on with
living without him. Throwing herself into completing her studies and internship
had helped. She’d volunteered for additional shifts at the hospital and worked
with clinics on the side to fill her time. Anything to keep from going back to
an empty apartment where she’d stare at the walls for hours and wish she wasn’t
so darned lonely. She’d missed him terribly.
She stretched out on the Mylar blanket and turned her back
to Buck. It helped a little. But she knew he was there and she couldn’t deny
the desire she’d felt in that kiss.
Holy hell, she could easily slide right back into that trap
again. Falling in love with a man who didn’t return the same level of feelings
was a no-win situation. She’d be better off focusing on the task ahead. Save
the boys and get back to her work with Doctors Without Borders.
